A Trip To See Someone Special
by Thoughtless in>birthday.

You say "adoptive mother," is that correct? In this context it would seem she is a birth mother? Or perhaps an adoptive mother who is no longer raising you? Sorry for my confusion.

So I Went back to my old Kingdom Hall Today...
by cofty in...because it's now an art gallery.. it was really strange to have a look around the building and see what they have done with it.
a lot of the old kh features are still there.
they have kept the old platform, it gets used as a music venue on occasions.. i went up on the platform and faced the hall to bring back memories of the hundreds of times i stood there giving talks.. they have quite a few of the old chairs and the magazine/literature counter is still there but it has been moved beside the stage and painted.. all those huge windows have been restored and the place is full of light.. you can see a lot of pictures at their website, they have called it "the berwick watchtower".. the owner asked my wife and i if it was our first visit - hahaha.

Wonderful old buildings like this can be used for so many different things. I looked at the pictures on the website and was really impressed with how they have made it work for their purposes. Love the building. Too bad it has been used for cult purposes in the past. :( But what a lovely idea to repurpose it for creative expression -- something that is so severely limited for the JWs.

Wow did not see that coming.
by msconcerned inso for a while now i have had some doubts and i have slowly started and had conversations with my wife.
she has kind of conceded very minor points in our conversations, but what i have been seeing is that she is starting to use her brain.
im not insulting my wife, but she is starting to think critically.

You just can't make this stuff up!!! But this is true!
by Gojira_101 intoday i went on my instragram and realized that one of the jw "friends" i have on there didn't have any or her wt propaganda, and propaganda i mean pictures of her and all the children (under 10) she is studying with and helping to bring in the truth.
so i looked to see if she was still "following me" nope, so i looked to see if i was still "following her" nope, which means she blocked.
so then i go on to my jw facebook and she is no longer friends with me..... so now i know what you are thinking, she has blocked and unfrieded me because she saw my apostate video...or word finally reached her.....nope!

Gojira,
You sound like one lucky person. I want a husband with a buzz cut and a goatie. Actually, just a husband even without a goatie or buzz cut would do.

Magotan's Story
by magotan inhi all, i've posted here in crisis a few weeks ago.
i recently have finally taken the time to write out my entire story.
i knew i had to come out to my parents and family about everything, my sexuality, and my issues with the jehovah's witnesses.

I previously read your story, though I think it was a shorter version. Your account is one of someone who has been horribly victimized by the Watchtower. Hopefully, as you grow into adulthood, you will get to the point of becoming empowered enough to truly realize what you've done -- that you had the strength to reject their cult, make your way on your own, pursue your education and build your own life. This is amazingly, wonderfully, empowering. Hopefully the way you think about and tell your story will change significantly as you mature. The narrative, hopefully, will become less of that of victim, and more of that of empowered survivor.
Good luck to you!

Wow, Julia, Smiddy, Gromit, and Tornapart, thanks so much for your comments. They were interesting to read, and what others I have talked to in real life have said. And, Smiddy, there's nothing wrong with feeling repulsed by seeing an exchange on TV. You sound like a really good person, so I would not question that or worry about that at all. It's your reaction and it is what it is. I wish there were more people like you and your wife in the world.

I have found a girlfriend, but there is something I've been hiding from her
by ronweasley inall is well and good in my life right now :) with one small catch... i have a secret that i have hidden from my girlfriend.. for the first time since coming out of the borg, i have found romance.
i was lucky to meet a girl called romilda (name has been changed), and we get on like a house in fire.
we have been in a relationship for a few days now, but some of my friends have pointed out that i should be honest with her and be straight about my sexuallity.

@Anony Mous, I hope none of my comments were seen as disparaging of polyamory or nonmonogamous arrangements. I support what makes people happy, as long as everyone is a consenting adult.

why refer to her as "poor girl?" She may be very lucky to have met him. He could be quite a catch.
