The Mormon's first mistake was to allow their members to be educated. Former JW'softensometimes have difficulty rising above the frustration that comes from a limited thinking ability and or the ability to articulate his/her experience as a JW without resorting to a lower based anger. -

Jesus was the son of GOD (supposedly) and being so would have the authority to express condemnation when he saw fit. Deciding who is or who isn't a modern day Pharisee and treating them badly for it, is not my thing...never was. The condoning of harsh tactics carried out in the name of God or Christianity toward others (including my family) is why I left JW's and why I'm done here as well.
Just sayin'

These young men were just handing out Awake magazines. Why weren't they and the Watchtower Society not being Christlike and showing the works of feeding the poor, taking care of widows and orphans?
Again....since you quoted the bible earlier and seem concerned with Bible principles and adhering to Jesus' example, did he say anywhere that we should seek out and be unkind to those whose we view as un-Christlike or whose works and faith we deem as being inadequate or "dead" ?
Perhaps showing kindness to others when they may not be entirely deserving of kindness, could be considered "good works" as well.

without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
Does it say anywhere in the Bible that we should seek out and be unkind to those whose faith and whose works we view as being inadequate? How do we or anyone else viewing this video know for sure what other works these kids may be involved with, so that we can pass judgement on whether or not their faith is dead?
Since random and ill fitting scriptures are being quoted, "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" comes to mind.
This cameraman may have been accurate in his assertion that JW's teachings are full of holes and that the are often unprepared to explain them but it was unkind of him to humiliate these people on video for the world to see. However superior his knowledge of the Bible and religion may be, he was not behaving in a noble manor.
It is always better to err on the side of kindness when we don't have all the facts.
Hopefully I will be never so far gone so as to ever think what was done in this video, was a good thing.

The WBT$ Supports the Genocide of Everyone but Loyal WBT$ JW`s..
What do you think Loyal WBT$ JW`s Preach about Armageddon?!..I'm not finding fault with anyone for having posted this video or apologizing for the Watchtower by any means but I think in order to have a realistic discussion on the topic of JW's we have to be balanced in what we say about them, how we treat them and what we accuse them of.
JW's believe that God (as shown in the bible several times) is "Genocidal" and they believe he has the right to be that way since he is the creator and mankind is wicked " We don't have to agree with this view but it's a bit of a stretch to say they are a"Genocidal Organization" as was done in an earlier post. They as an organization are not planning to carry out any sort of mass murder or genocide themselves. If you want to use a that term, I think it would be fair to say that they are out warning people about an upcoming genocide, called Armageddon at the hands of God.
When JWs sell their brand of "truth" on street corners, they should be well prepared for questions.
If you can't stand the heat get out of the damn kitchen.
Yes, I agree, they should be prepared to answer genuine questions as best they can but this was an intentional attack. This man was not interested in having his questions answered. He knew well the answers to the questions he was asking. He was interested in putting JW's on the spot for the purpose of tripping them up and capturing it all on video. Kitchens are hot places sometimes but usually they are bearable. Somethings a bit off when a person opens the door of a hot oven just to see how uncomfortable he can make things for everybody and then videos their reaction.
It's ironic that so many JWs today run away from confrontation when the field service work is based on going to people's home and trying to convince them that they are about to be annihilated if they don't join the right organization.
I've seen JW's "run away " as you say, from confrontation but I've more often than not seen them do their best to answer people's questions. When I have seen them "run" it has only been because it was obvious the person wasn't interested in answers or learning about the JW religion and was only interested in arguing. If we are honest here, we will admit that JW's as a rule are only too happy to talk to people with questions so long as the person is genuinely interested in understanding their religion and isn't simply there to confront them or has an axe to grind.
I feel that if this cameraman had gone somewhere to film a known pedophile being sent out into field service accompanied by elders - THAT kind of you tube might accomplish more good. At least in exposing how unjust and dangerous the WT organization is in KNOWINGLY sending out known sex offenders to peoples homes thus putting minor children in danger.
I agree. To walk up to these young people, put a camera in their face and treat them like fools was unkind. Save the animosity and these expose' style confrontations for someone who is proven to have done something truly wrong.
As a Jehovah's Witness for 40 years, I don't ever remember one talk about helping out any person who was down and out? All I remember was placing magazines and books!
I think JW's have a long way to go in terms of doing good for their fellow man in the here and now. The same could be said of governments who spend billions on missions to mars, for example, when they have people dropping like flies from hunger and disease.
As we all know, JW's foremost mission and their small piece of the large tapestry of human civilization right now, is to promote a "long term" fix for mankind's problems. We don't have to agree with them but that's what they do... that's their work. Their goal that day and at that very moment when they were captured on video, was to simply be a presence on the street in case there was interest. In spite of their main mission, I'm quite sure no one in the congregation would have found fault these young JW's if they'd have gone across the street and bought the homeless man something to eat even if their organization as a whole isn't involved in that particular activity.

EVIL in a SUIT..
...Recruits to Support a Genocidal Organization..
Genocide: The systematic murder or destruction of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.
Genocidal...really ?? Granted there was a lot of damage done but in all my decades as a JW I never saw anything close to what could be categorized as systematic murder or destruction of anything .
Exaggerate much Outlaw?

So those of you who feel these young greenhorn amateurs were at a disadvantage....take it up with these kids 'Mother' (WTBTS) who put them there!!!
Exactly....Take the video camera to the WTBTS Headquarters. Why bully and publicly humiliate the victims while the responsible ones hide behind the walls of a giant publishing house?
All the cameraman was proving was how unfit most JW's are in defending the 'Good News'!
We know nothing about these individuals except what the cameraman chose to show us. The only thing he proved is what a coward and a bully he is and how these decent folks recognized a no win situation and they wisely chose to remove themselves from it. Why should they have to defend anything to someone who is obviously a bully with an agenda ?
9 years old or 99 years old ...ordained or not....they didn't deserve to be treated this way. Whether the cameraman likes it or not they should be able to stand on the sidewalk without being harassed and they should be free to choose whether they want to be interviewed on camera or not. It is very telling of a person to see how he treats those who are at a disadvantage to him. He knows JW's to be kindly as a rule and their message a peaceable one. I'd like to see him try this with any other group he might see assembled on a city sidewalk. (International Longshoreman's Association, Black Nationalists) . As much as he may disagree with their agenda or dislike their message, my guess is he'd be too much of a coward to pull a stunt like this on any other group except JW's or possibly a group of Girl Scouts.

If JWs choose to set up shop in public places they need to be ready for questions. After all they turn up at stranger's doors uninvited and ask (what some would consider to be) very personal questions, just so they can tell the householder how wrong they are. That's rude!
Yes... "IF" they were to ask the householder very personal questions for the sole purpose of telling them how wrong they were, that it would indeed be rude. "IF" they showed up at the householders doorstep and asked personal questions, videotaped their responses then edited and posted them on youtube , that would be rude as well as unkind and just plain wrong. To be fair, as bad as we may think they are, I'm sure we can agree, not even the worst JW's intent is to ask questions just to show a householder how wrong they are.
As much as my life was and is adversely effected by JW's, I don't like to see older more experienced and prepared persons (the cameramen) publicly humiliating younger ones like this. These young folks are victims of this organization and are still at an age where they are trusting and are under the influence of those who went before them and who passed on this way of life to them. To me,it was a form of bullying to ambush them with a camera like that. The presence of a video camera and the nature and the setting of their work, placed them at a disadvantage. If the cameraman truly cared about them as individuals or getting answers to his questions, he could have spoken to them off camera as they asked him to do several times. It was his sole intent to put them on the spot. There was no way for them to come out ahead in this situation. If they'd have given him the perfect answers, we'd have never seen this video because his agenda would have been foiled and likely wouldn't have been posted on youtube.
In addition, if the cameraman truly cared about the homeless man laying on the sidewalk, he could have interviewed him, gotten his permission and aired his plight on youtube and possibly made a difference somehow. Instead (it appears) he chose to go after these well meaning yet easy targets who were quietly standing on the sidelines with their literature.
Sometimes on this site JW's are condemned for bothering people at their doors or asking too many questions and also condemned when they stand quietly and wait for people to approach them. We've got to cut them some slack once awhile and give them some credit now and them.
Videos like this make me really question if I'm on the right track here. I don't want to be in any shape or form,"that guy".

I felt really bad for these nice kids having been put on the spot like this. With all the JW training in overcoming objections still burned into my brain from my growing up years as a JW, I was rooting for them and hoping they'd come through. I have two son's, so the father in me wanted to jump in there and help them out. There were any number of responses they could have given and I'm sure later, they though of all the things they could have said. These kids aren't used to being around harshness or rudeness nor were they prepared to have a camera shoved in their faces and asked questions from someone who was more interested in proving a point about JW's rather than having his questions answered.
It may have been perfectly legal to video them like this but it just wasn't a nice thing to do.
