Not as bad as those that lost loved ones who died because they were not allow certain blood fractions that are now acceptable.
That would be me about my Dad.....and one of the biggies that made me head for the exit door.
i saw a rumor a few weeks ago on reddit that the new imitate jesus convention is supposed to present new light and clarified understandings on the disfellowshipping/disassociation practices.. supposedly, if this rumor has any truth to it, there will be a talk given at the convention about how we should not be strict like the pharisees in how we shun people, loosening up some of the jw rules about this practice.. has anyone here heard anything about this or have more info on it?.

the neighbor child came over to play with my youngest child.
i think she's about 4 maybe 5. well anyway there was some strawberries out on the counter and she asked if she could have one and i said no.
when i looked over later i saw her sneak one.
So I decided the thing to do was to kill slowly and sacrifice my oldest daughter to myself because this really pissed me off that this little 4 year old would not do what I told her to do.
Let me guess.....you also put a pox on this kid and her future children and her children's children and you greatly increased her pain in childbirth. (that last bit was a nice touch by the way, I wouldn't have though of that in a million years )
arguing with my husband again, i asked where is the proof that jesus looked down on earth in 1919 and chose a small group of bible students in america apart from them saying it in their magazines.
also where is the proof that satan and his demons were cast down in 1914 just because first world war started.
neither of these things are in the bible only in their magazines.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof and there simply isn't any.....never was.

i have talked to him ttat.
and he understands.
he doesn't wanna be a jw.
H2bme, I have 2 sons and I know that at that age they could be changeable and torn about what they liked and wanted and what others wanted them to do. As a father you too probably have mixed feelings about all this in case you may be sending him down the wrong road.
Your Son will naturally have mixed feelings about not wanting to be a JW. and will feel an urgency to do something NOW like all young people do. A week, a month or a year, is a long time when you're 15 and religion is pretty boring. He won't want to hurt his Mom and he will feel the same JW guilt/fear, we were all instilled with, yet he will want out and will want to be on "your side".
I'd say it's important that you let him bring the topic up, rather than push the issue yourself. Don't make this about choosing between you and his Mom. Kids can be black and white about things, thinking they have to be either this or that, especially if he's been raised a JW. I'd probably reassure him that this isn't an emergency situation where he has to change everything right now and that he doesn't have to make any choice at all. I'd encourage him to take a "wait and see" attitude and help him see the "grey" areas in these kind of matters and the value of not burning bridges. I'd help him see that there are some positives that come from sticking with things even when he doesn't want to, and following a moral code and a set of standards has it's benefits as well. I'd point out that the problem here, lies in the inability to think for ones self, speak their mind and learn from others whose ideas may be foreign to them at first. I'd focus on having nice times when we were working and playing together. Be an example to him and show him that non JW's can be good moral honest people too. Teach him life skills he may not have picked up within the Org and never say anything negative about JW's or his Mom or her beliefs. Make this his decision rather that one the two of you have made and make it clear that whether he's a JW or not, he'll still be your Son. He'll thank you for that, down the road.

may 10th, the whole study was about covering up their mistakes, and putting it off on "recent refinements of understandings".. you could just look at the elder on stage and know he was not feelin this study.. when a neewbie answered and said" lots of unexpected changes are happening" i about fell outta my seat !
!
!.
I'm glad I wasn't there.....it would have been very tempting to say:
" So all those years spent learning these doctrines and blanketing the world with literature containing misinformation, was a waste of time ? I wonder what else we currently believe, is incorrect as well? "
so as i am "listening" to the wt study going on this question was asked.
"how do you feel about refined understanding?".
some of the comments were:.
I feel like we can trust everything the governing body tells us now that we know they are the FDS."
"We are sooo fortunate to know who the FDS is. The world doesn't know who they are."
The world doesn't have a clue about the truth."
As a former long time JW, the above comments are typically made by a commenter who is trying to compensate for his/her own sense of uncertainty. If these feelings were genuine, it would be automatically assumed that these things are so and it wouldn't have occurred to them to comment on them.
check this one out and share with your jw friends if you can get away with it.

you don't have to know much to talk to jw's and show them they don't want to really discuss the matters.they consider a discussion on the matter they are pushing to be "confrontational.".

Jesus was the son of GOD (supposedly) and being so would have the authority to express condemnation when he saw fit. Deciding who is or who isn't a modern day Pharisee and treating them badly for it, is not my thing...never was. The condoning of harsh tactics carried out in the name of God or Christianity toward others (including my family) is why I left JW's and why I'm done here as well.
Just sayin'
