As there was little corresponding evidence from other Pacific coasts, it is concluded it was the result of a large off-shore earthquake. That can make one hell of a flood legend.
Nope...the Bible says there was a flood...so it happened...end of story. These whale bones prove that everything the Watchtower has taught us is absolutely true and we're all gonna die at Armageddon for sure !

Once upon a time a pod of Whales was swimming along minding their own business when a tidal wave caused by an off shore earthquake, hurls the entire pod of Whales onto dry land and then receeds leaving the Whales a half a mile or so away from the beach. The whales die...the bones are found a million years later.

the last time i was sick and couldn't really talk back but i was pleasant enough.

Then I'm going to ask them to read Luke 21;8 and explain how I could ever obey that and join their religion at the same time.
As far as I can tell it is talking about individuals caliming to be a returned Christ which they don't do...they do however, as we know claim to be Gods chosen people. Am I missing something, what other argument could we make using this scripture?

I spoke with my "in family" and they now are asking people a 'thought provoking question" and leaving them with it and it gives them more chance to return and ask if they thought about the answer.
If the holy spirit was guiding them to the sheeplike, there wouldn't have to be such a need for strategy and trickery ...seems like it would just happen. Why do people have to be tricked into being interested in this religion?

Going out in service to some JWS is more about relieving themselves of built up guilt propagated at the Kingdom Halls, coercively and exploitively
The relief experienced after field service or attending an assembly is often mistaken for "JOY" .

I remember the first time they started using "tracts" back around 1974. They whipped everyone up into a furvor as if we were deliverning a extra special message with some timely ultra important news. It was like they were pulling out all the stops...nothing was to slow us down, just place and go. It was an easy job even a barely hanging on Witness could do and could be part of the feel good band wagon. On the 3 tract campaign, they "likened" it to when Joshua circled Jerico three times before he was told to deliver the trumpet blast that would bring the City down. That was about 37 years ago and the "City" is still standing.
This giving away of free bibles reminds me of how the tobacco companies used to get "new recruits" by handing out free cigaretts and chew in public places.

LittleMac: I forgot about that....before I went in for my Physical everyone was joking about "mooning Manhatten" Turns out that theres a big window in Dr. Dixon's office that faces Manhatten and that was where he did the exam. Pretty weird thing to have done to you without an explaination or even it being a necessity.
