I have a strong dislike for Plant. I'm sorry but his solo stuff is not all that great. He doesn't care about Zeppelin fans. All he cares about is peddling crap to win grammy's and sell some records. He is the only thing keeping them from going on tour again.

I am exhausted emotionally.
by PaintedToeNail ini have been reading ashley judd's 'all things bitter and sweet' autobiography, and it has exhausted me.
she paints a picture of neglect and abuse from early childhood on.
as i sat reading, i realised i was identifying with so much of what she wrote.. why, when having an emotional breakdown as a teenager, major obsessive compulsive disorder, obvious depression symptoms, would you refuse to get medical help for your child?

Just keep in mind that none of it was your fault. I'm sorry you had to deal with such a miserable childhood. Nobody should have to go through any of that.

I was on the other side of your fence, except I was still trying to remain in good standing with the JW's. It turned out horribly. I'm sorry for your situation but at this point judging from his reaction, you are probably better off.

Guy Pearce admits to Atheism!!
by Open mind inpearce does not believe in a god but believes "we're all connected.".

oh, were you thinking of guy pierce?

I actually knew who you were talking about before I opened it. Not that big of a fan of Momento. It was a good movie, I just think it is hyped a little bit much. My favorite Pearce movie is actually LA Confidential.

1975 - A weak argument?
by Christ Alone ini posted this on an older thread, but i wanted to get an honest opinion about this from all of you.
i think taking the 1975 approach with a jw is...weak.
was it wrong (and false prophetic) of them?

Yeah they never said specifically but it is implied. Like when they say from the platform at the conventions, "Aren't we happy to be here brothers and sisters?" Then it makes the brainwashed person think "Oh yeah, I am happy to be here!" Then you applaud. They never told you to be happy, they just made you cognizant of how you were SUPPOSED to feel.
Their shifty words allow them to have their cake and eat it too.

Ransom paid. But still you gotta suffer!
by punkofnice inwith my recent rise to atheistic agnosticism(?
) i pondered this:.
if the death of jesus paid the ultimate price.....then why didn't it all end there and then and everyone got to heaven or walk into paradise with a panda?.

MrFreeze
Because then the prophecies pointing to 1914 as an obvious start date wouldn't work. Duh!

It was an elderly woman's 100th birthday. Her three sons decided to go all out for this one and get her really nice gifts but they live on the other side of the country so they had them shipped to her.
One son bought her a state of the art stereo system. One son bought her a fancy sports car. The third son knows she is a devout Baptist who reads the Bible every day so he spends $10,000 on a parrot that can recite any verse of the Bible on command.
A week after she gets the gifts, the sons all call to ask how she's been enjoying the gifts. The first son asks how she is enjoying the stero system. She says "Oh, it was very thoughtful of you to get me that nice stereo but I can't very well and the neighbors complain if I turn it up loud enough so I can hear it." Second son asks her how she is enjoying the car. She says "Oh, it is a lovely car but I can't see very well any more so it isn't safe for me to drive."
Third son asks her how she was enjoying the bird. She said "Oh, that chicken you gave me was so delicious!"

What do you call a door to door vacuum salesman?
Jehoovers Witness
A talking gorilla walks into a bar. Bartender walks up to him and asks what he'd like. Gorilla says "Whiskey on the rocks". Gorilla lays down a 20 dollar bill. Bartender takes the money and goes to get him his drink. Bartender thinks to himself "He's just a gorilla. He doesn't know anything about the prices of drinks." He puts the drink and the money in front of the gorilla.
Bartender says, "You know, we don't get many talking gorillas around here." Gorilla replies "Yeah, at $19.85 a drink you ain't gonna see me around here either."
Two nuns walk into a liquor store and go to buy a bottle of whiskey. The clerk says "Hey, you are both nuns. You aren't supposed to be drinking that stuff!" One of the nuns replies "It isn't for us. It is for Mother Superior! She's constipated." Clerk says "Oh, in that case, you can have the bottle free of charge." Nuns thank him and leave.
Two hours later the clerk is driving by the church and in front of it he sees the nuns passing the bottle back and forth. Clerk says "Sisters! You should be ashamed of yourselves! You said it was for Mother Superior's constipation!" Nuns reply "It is! She's sure gonna s**t when she sees us!"

Music of the 60's ... Peace Love and Understanding
by Finkelstein inretrospectively looking back at some the music that was being produced during .
the 60's, 70's and even in the 1950's there really was a lot of good music without the.
entailing commercial visual hype that so apparent in popular music today.. this was of course pre music videos, the music had to stand on its own to create its own public appeal.. whats some of the music that you fondly remember all you baby boomers ?

Music meant something back then. The song "Video Killed the Radio Star" says it all. Now it is all about the look.
