  Is it a tradition in your congregation for the visiting speaker to give the final prayer on Sunday?

  every congregation i have attended this is the case.

  i was wondering if this is just a local thing or if it is an unwritten rule worldwide?.

  I think it's in the Elder's book or one of the books that dictate how the meetings are run. Perhaps a BOE letter. I remember going over this information in a ministerial servants and elders meeting. Perhaps it was the OD book?

  It is a written rule. As long as the speaker doesn't have to leave before the end of the Watchtower study.

  can't we all just agree to finally give a 150 year old theory a nice funeral?

  there is no way this stuff lasts hundreds of millions of years!.

  The difference between scientists and Christians is scientists base their beliefs on what the evidence says while Christians base the evidence on what their belief says.

  the tv news about syria is truly disgusting, and it is only the tip of a much bigger situation that has been going on for milleniums.

  :"mans inhumanity to man".

  but i can't get the scripture at james 4:17 out of my mind.

  I think their position in the Revelation Grand Climax book is that there were always "Jehovah's Witnesses" throughout the last 2,000 years. But they were a very small minority.

  does anyone know why the jw's stopped having the conventions at dodgers stadium in los angles in the early 1990's?

  i was curious.

  as you know, the peace-loving people of islam are seldom more peace-loving than they are on wednesdays.. what are your predictions, speculations and expectations for that day?

  What, do you want something to happen? People like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh seemed to get off on the events that occurred on 9/11 a year ago.
