  I met a JW in a pub

  last saturday i met some ex jws.

  on friday i called one of them to go out.

  we were three women and we went to a bar and then look for a disco to dance.

  Why do JW's allow wedding rings?

  recently we had a post where a non-jw asked what to expect at his jw's wedding.

  he was told not to expect certain things that have a pagan background such as rice-tossing or the bride throwing a corset to the virgins unmarried girls at the reception.. but somehow wedding rings are allowed at jw weddings!.

  any idea why?.

  I didn't know about wedding rings being pagan until after I left the org and saw a post about it HERE. It certainly is hypocritical !!

  when going door to door were you delivering good news (without an if) like, "your landlord has given you the house"or were you selling 'love' like, "if you do as we do then you will be loved"or were you pretending to be normal but giving the underlying warning about the imaginary beast-god - who was perhaps going to get yourself.. paduan

  There's not a thing wrong with it although, the householder whom you woke up on their day off , uninvited, and talking about something they don't want to hear about may see things differently.

  When I went door to door I often used the scripure John 17:3 . I wanted those I saw at the door to have everlasting life and I truly believed I had the key to that "knowledge".

  I never enjoyed going out in service but once I was actually at a door and speaking , my whole heart was into it. Thank God I didn't bring anyone in.

  hmm,i dont how too start off,but ill try,so im 16 yrs old,im being raised as a jw,and it is hard as hell,sometimes i think,if this is the right religion arent you suppose to be happy??

  ?well i really cant do anything about that because my parents say no way they will let me go in "the world" nonsense!so im stuck here ,lonely,depressed,and confused,sometimes i wish id die,but i know that wont help nothing.i want out of this org so bad,but i cant do nothing about it.there always telling me dont let satan and the bad asscioates influence you!im sick of that.all my friends well i shold say my ex friends they never helped me,my as they say:worldy friends did.. also i really really like this guy,i know he like me but he is worldy and i wish so badly i could date him,(i hate the term worldy,so stupid)my parents seriously will not give me space and they are stuck up my @ss.please if u have any commets i would sincerly appriciate it:) laura

  Hi Shytears,

  We're all here for you ! I'm a mom and I have 2 daughters just a couple of years younger than you. Your parents think that they are doing whats best. Your in a tough spot. Dating , dances and friendships with schoolmates are an impotant part of the teen years, unfortunately they don't mix with the JW lifestyle. I feel for you !!! In just a few short years you'll be able to choose your own coarse, but for now your definately limited. If you need to vent we're here for you ! Oh............ I wanted to add that the best way to freedom is education. take care

  Is Bald Beautiful?

  after i got a haircut recently, a look in the mirror revealed a little too much recession of my hairline for comfort.

  i saw that 'horseshoe' shape atop my head.

  so, while i was away, i got my head buzzed.

  I just called an old JW friend. I haven't seen her in years and we were close. We even got baptized the same time. I told her how I DA'd myself and wasn't a witness. She said she isn't one either but faded away. I told her about this site but wasn't able to give the web address due to my cell phone going out ! I just wanted this to be posted in case she finds it !
