I agree with you tammy,
because it was sheer TRICKERY that lured me into the WTS.
so i was talking to one of my "apologist" friends, and he just got back from a mormon outreach mission in utah.
he was able to help a 17 year old mormon girl to begin to see the truth and was really excited about it.
he goes to these temple conventions and temple openings all the time to preach jesus to them.. so he was interested in doing that at a jw convention.

it has come to my attention that there have been numerous posts on the board asking posters personal questions like:.
where do you live?are you male or female?do you know people from a certain congregation?do you know a certain district overseer or circuit overseer?do you know of certain conflicts in your congregation?post some pictures of where you liveif you are an active or fading jw ...?if you are an active elder ...?there are plenty of other personal type questions that can be used to narrow down who you are.
some may seem quite innocent like the post pictures of where you live but if i post a picture of ottawa but don't want anyone to know i live in ottawa i have just told the internet world where i live.
i only give out info that i'm comfortable giving out
i get suspicious if people start ask anything listed in Lady lee's post
without my volunteering it first
read the account of moses taking the credit for the water provision miracle and that of king david's folly and his consequences.. ...read them.... ...you are still reading.... ...ok now you have that fresh in your mind.. jehovah had a correctional arrangement in place for all his spokesmen.
story of jonah would work great too.
the point being that in the bible god has always had this correctional arrangement for the leaders of his earthly organization.. that being said, where did that arrangement go?
" Why do you even bother to post things, that are so easily proven to be wrong? "
because she takes this site as a joke, she doesn't care if it help people who need to talk,
she's just here to rile people up who really need to express themselves, shame on you alice,
for taking peoples pain and using it for your play groung.
we have been out of the organization since 1-1-2004 - at least that is the way we mark it to remember.
we began to read ray's books in late fall/early winter of 2003 - a thousand pages later and a few weeks - viola - we were out to never return.. i was contemplating just how significantly i have personally changed in that period of time - not the stages, though there have been many stages.
but the raw contrast of my opinions, moral stance, and view of the world is amazing.
Jeff,
that post is like a beautiful poem
do you all think there will be huge drop in memberships of jehovah witnesses during 2014?
i don't believe so because the governing body member will come up with new reasons why armageddon hasn't come yet.
i was thinking they will reinterpret scriptures and stuff....
If they don't change the " Reasoning of the Scriptures " book
they'll have a lot of explaining to do, about whats written
on pg 234 promising that the 1914 generation will be the ones to see the end.
and yes they still use this book in field service. Because they then have to explain
why Jehovah sent Jesus down to tell a bunch of lies.
when i was a firm believer that the wts was god's chosen organization, i didn't really research too much.
never gave much thought to other opinions.
if the insight book said so, than it was factual.
And i thought i was the only one talkin' to myself, when i think back on all the Bull.
Good to know i have company
i received this from my mother on tuesday after we skipped the sunday session of the dc.
she's using guilt now and multiplying the effect by dragging my terminally ill mother-in-law (also uber-devout) into it the picture.... "sunday after the convention while we were counting the money someone came into the counting room and said there was someone outside wanting to see me.
i went out there and standing in the hallway was [your mother-in-law].
MY heart truly go out to the children of JW's
all their lives they have to look at pics of people being destroyed, and the constant guilt tripps being laid
upon them daily. No wonder there is is so much emotional damage, I applaude the one's who overcome
this burden.
just wondering if anyone has ever heard of elders being referred to as independent agents before.
i called the legal department and spoke to an older brother about the child molesters in my hall about a month ago.
he did not want to speak to me because i am just a stupid sister but he did finally agree and that was one point he made.
Yes Syl,
they are worse than BUZZARDS

Another thing i remember,
after one thursday night meeting, an elder asked from the podium if anyone
could help one of the congregation members out with a gas bill. He was very discreet and
did not give the name of the one needing help. He didn't ask Bethel, even though Behtel
ask alot from them.

The red cross put her up in a hotel for a while , and she recieved help from the towns
christian help center, and people in the congregation donated clothes and whatever they could
to her. No help from bethel. But when the congregation needed to pave the parking lot she help
pledge some of her own money for that. And don't that property belong to the WTS ?
