My Lord spoke and told me to post

my lord spoke to me for the first time yesterday and this morning he told me to post my experience.. i know there are going to be ones who will call me names and thats ok. i will accept whatever you feel you need to say.. here goes.

i heard a voice calling ''my child'', this happened while at the zoo so i was taken off guard!

i replied ''who is this?

I have made it a practice to stay far, far away from these types of discussions on the board but this one time I am going to offer my .02 understanding that it is only my .02 and not worth that depending on who you ask...

I can only ask Shelby and all others who "hear" the voice of the lord to step away from the situation and analyze it objectively. I personally cannot explain why the lord would choose any one person or another to speak to, in bible times or now. But notice this link:

Its not my place, nor my desire, to tell anyone the lord did or did not talk to them. But consider, most of us spent years in association with an organization that we believed, we KNEW, DEEP DOWN, was God's one true organization. We were utterly convinced. With every fiber of our being. I'm just saying that "feeling" something is true does not make it so. That link is very informative, and very compassionate. Please take a look.

i will go out on a limb and say that this has probably been discussed alot.

but for my own personal benefit i'd like to hear everyones "favorite" bible contradiction.

i'd also like to hear any refutes that anyone has to any of these contradictions.

WT Spending

i know this topic has been discussed here before, but i still cease to be amazed at the spending that the wt does to build it's facilities.

this is an issue that jws like to brag about.

today i received an email regarding the open house of the new casa grande az assembly hall.

you didn't answer my question. Please read and think for a moment. In the scripture you cited, paul noted he worked (made tents) so as not to be a burden on the congregation. What do the GB make? think.... think... compare the scripture... read some more... think

also, just so you know, NONE of the current men on the GB ever worked a day in their lives secularly. Show me the life story that proves they did.. they were missionarys and branch men. Not "workers". for anyone.

now back to the question... what do they make so as not to be a burden on the congregtation... I axiously await your non-response

Bethel Rules

but i wanted to see if there are any bethelites or ex bethelites that remember some of the crazy rules we had to follow when we were there..

oh hell yes you had to pay for the "privilege " of ac. I was in Brooklyn and worked in the laundry. Hot as HELL. And I was expected to come home, in the hot, humid summer, to no ac because I didnt get paid for the "privilege" of working. Kiss my ass. I got an extension cord and ran the HELL out of that AC. Damn if the housekeeper didn't tell on me and I got a bill. Thankfully I never paid it and ended up leaving after my year was up. They never got a dime from me. Just the sweat of my brow and a year of life.

Kingdom Song Hangover

aside from a song or two at the memorial the last few years, i haven't been exposed to any kingdom songs in a long time (5+ years) yet certain lyrics keep popping into my head quite frequently.. "there is joy in the service for all, it's the work jesus did you'll recall".

"soon there'll be great banqueting in which the meek will share, this good news of the kingdom let us preach".

dont forget you had to PAY for the damn AC!!!!!!

also to clarify the elevatior rule was you couldn't use it to go below the 6th floor. So 6th floor and down you walked up. Damn it if my room wasn't on the sixth floor.

No shirts with logos ANYWHERE at any time (even off hours)

you went to work in ALL weather ALL the time.

You had to dress to go to all meals (shirt and tie) no matter what your job was. So you showered and changed min three times a day.

you had to dresses to WALK to work (shirt and tie)

If you didn't go to work because you were sick they called you ALL DAY LONG. Litterally ten times in an eight hour day. It was worse than going to work.

They frowned on you having a TV in your room

also you ask us to read yearbooks for examples of helping the poor... help me out dear. Cite something from the year book. Use the cd rom to cut and past. I know you know how...
