What Can We Do to Show How We Cared about Oompa?

several people, including myself, would like to do something concrete to show our concerns re: his treatment by the jw, and how important he was to all of us here.
i suggested a handwritten note, on behalf of the whole community here, flowers, and perhaps a donation to a charity that helps people get back on their feet.

by free @ last inanyone know the current wt teachings on the length of time humans have been in existence?
do they still teach that the first man and woman were created approximately 6,000 years ago?
have they made any comments on archeological findings that show paleo-indians living in the america's 10,000+ years ago?

A funy thing happened to me ...
by scotoma ini suddenly realized that this board has the same methods at its disposal as the watchtower and it will use them.
and there's no appeal.. i am so saddened by this i feel like killing myself.
this was my last refuge of being able to discuss things that are on my mind.. and now i see there is no hope.

Scotoma, dont take it hard. I acknowledged right away you had a valid point for discussion. Go back and look. Its there. But a man just killed himself. He was known and cared for by many here. You simply have to understand it was Bad timming. Give it a little while and the board will be fine with that discussion.
One of the most difficult lessons of leaving the org is that it isnt always about you. It wasnt that your thought was evil or that you personally are unliked.. Its simply bad form to assign blame so soon after a death.
Stay strong and reach out for help, real help, now! No more pain this weekend.

Just as an aside, the family may have choosen to keep the death notice brief because of the manner of his death. There is considerable social stigma attached to suicide and, along with his loss, they may be strugling to deal with the manner of it as well, searching for answers as many here are. Im am in no way suggesting that JWN shouldnt do something, only offering possible insight on the family since some have wondered.
