  Faith... and Trust: The Same Things?

  in a discussion with some other dear ones, the question was asked as to what such ones put their faith in.

  in response to one comment that"one can't function without faith," another disagreed, stating ones can, that "many do so every day... the ones who have trust" (in things like the sun rising in the east versus the west).

  that trust extended to "faith" based "on nature and the natural order of things.

  there are no less than two (watchtower publications) examples where six year old toddlers have been baptized.

  Fatfreek, i hate to take exception but really the tittle of thread is every bit as misleading as the nonsense the wt org writes when it misrepresents other peoples religious views. I hate it when i have to do what feels like arguing for the org but its important to be factual when refuting and calling attetion to the legitimate flaws in this cult.

  Toddlers are not baptised. Thats a rather sensational misrepresentation. A toddler, according to the pediatric journel of medicine, is a child age 12 - 36 months. Thats no older than 3.

  The exageration that babies arnt baptised but toddlers are take a very valid point and makes it subject to mockery.

  It would be far more effective and totally accurate to say that children are allowed to be baptised despite the org calling it a comitment more important than marriage. Its reasonable to then ask why dubbie's dont let 7 or 8 year olds get married. After all they say baptisum more important than marriage and more serious.... Thats a good line of logic and cant be called sensational or refuted with facts.

  Saying toddlers are immersed is easily refuted and therefore dimissed as typical apostate lies, which it turns out, it is... And allows someone seeking real facts and alternative POV's to be turned off and run away scared. Facts domt need to be exagerated or distorted. The org is full of crap and its easily showN without gross exagerationslike this.

  I think some have missed an even bigger scam wrapped realted to this (via the RBC)

  i maitain its clever as hell how they make money off disaters...

  but consider the very buildings they meet in. The little kingdom hall i attend was deemed outdated by the local RBC. Wether it was or not is irrelevant, it was deemed so. As with many KH in rural areas it was built on land donated to the congregation by one of its members decades ago ( 40+) and a structure was built. Because the land was donated and the structure built over the course of time (long before the RBC 'arrangment' was put in place) it was completly paid for and owned by the local congegation, ultimatly congregations, that meet there. It was quiet fincially stustanable by even a small group of 'brothers'.

  Along comes the RBC and decides its no longer satisfactory! IT must be torn down and rebuilt! So a "loan" is aquired from the society to rebuild the hall in the image that the RBC dectates. The RBC organized and directed by... the society. The very people who give the loan. The congregation agrees to repay this 'loan'..... but whats more, the society now OWNS THE VERY KINGDOM HALL AND ITS LAND as a result of the rebuild!

  so to recap... a kingdom hall that was owned by the local congregation is rebuilt at the direction of the society with the societies money that the local congregtation has to repay to the society and then the society ends up owning the building????

  I wouldnt have belived it had i not seen it happen locally with my own two eyes. You can also read about it in detail in the milano park KH scandal that juan has posted about here on JWN

  the tradgdy is that when i brought this information up locally i was branded semi teasingly as an "apostate".

  it was still a beliver at the time. but thats how deep these folks are, that they cant even see it when a building they own is taken from them.

  ok maybe i'm missing it terry, help me out...

  If i personally have plans to detonate a bomb at noon, plant the bomb and hold the detonator, then press it at noon, how did my knowing make it unfact? I'm sure im missing something easy but this isnt clear to me for some reason....

  Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.

  wow.

  i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.

  i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

  Its not just the awake. The wt also was cut to 16 pages. And they have HUGE margins.... Tons of white blank areas. They are a complete joke. But then they always were :D

  bear in mind the money isnt "demanded" by the org, but its framed as a "suggestion" (command) that the money that would have otherwise went to the repair of the home to be forwarded to the society. My personal experiance in florida was that everyone who had their house repaired donated the insurance money when it was paid.

  Bear in mind, its a win/win for the org. the labor was FREE (my dumb ass working on a roof for free) and the materials were FREE (donated by well meaning friends in other areas). Even if the "puplisher" in question didnt donate the money out of guilt and frear, the work costed the branch NOTHING to begin with. No loss at all. Its absolutly brilliant in its design.

  Correct. This was SOP as back as hurricane andrew (usa). I helped in that " relief work" and had a share in explainingto the dear friends why it was a provledge that they donate the insurance money "to help rebuild others homes". Except its free freakin labor and DONATED materials! Disaters are big buissness for the wt society
