does anyone know what book will be used for the next book study after this book?.

I'm no longer up to date on the meetings schedule. Wasn't the book study scrapped, and replaced with a family study night? Also heard rumblings of shortened Sunday meetings.

If somebody doesn't mind...what is the new weekly schedule? Thanks.

Ah, good find. Googled but didn't come up with that.

So I'd say my numbers were right. They were just using numbers based on 1965 - 1992. However, since murders have been on a steady DECLINE, the rate is now what I came up with....1 out of every 265 babies born.

His prediction of it eventually being "1 out of every 200" was higher than what it is has ended up being in 2009.

In short, they could've done a little research and adjusted their numbers based on current stats. But chose the old rate because it looks much worse.

The fact still remains the murder rate has been steadily dropping. But that doesn't help crank up the fear.

More fear-mongering with murder numbers…

Pg.25…paragraph 5:
"He (Satan) plants murderous attitudes in the hearts and minds of people. For example, 1 out of every 142 children born in the United States will become a murder victim. With senseless violence so prevalent, do you think that Jehovah will take less notice today than he did in Noah’s day?Will he fail to act?"

But where did they get those numbers from? More intellectual dishonesty at play here.

Here are the US populations and the number of murders for the past 3 years:
2007 - 301,621,157 pop. / 16,929 murders / Ratio: 1 murder for every 17,816 people
2008 - 304,374,846 pop. / 16,442 murders / Ratio: 1:18,512
2009 - 307,006,550 pop. / 15,241 murders / Ratio: 1:20,143

Murder rate has gone down in each of the past 3 years. And it has been on steady decrease since 1980…

1980 - 225,349,264 pop. / 23,040 murders / Ratio: 1:9,780

So things are getting worse are they? Nope…they are getting BETTER.

But here's where they were dishonest. 1 in 142 babies born will be murdered? That's a lie because they are comparing the number of births to the number of murders. Which is falsifying the info because it doesn't include the entire population.

What's worse….their numbers don't even check out at that. Using 2007's birth numbers at 4.3 million….and the 16,929 murders….that is a ratio of 1 murder for every 265 babies born.

Again, not sure where they pulled their numbers because they never say. (My numbers were gathered from the FBI: Uniform Crime Reports) But it is clearly intentionally misconstrued number crunching and completely inaccurate even at that. Same with their earthquakes on the increase BS.

Apparently the bad guys always sling their jacket over their shoulder (p.13). Beware of the jacket sling! He is clearly "puffed up with pride"...

What a load of goat shit !! the borg are trying to say and build up the door bashing work as a public service when we nobody wants them to call anyway in the UK. This is pure bull and they do nothing for the public service ever...

No kidding. JWs truly believe they are respected by the "worldlies" and are seen as a special group, almost looked up to. That was the impression I had when in.

When I started to fade away, I remember asking a "wordly" friend who was well-connected in the city what people really thought of JWs and their knocking. He said most people are basically annoyed with JWs...and most don't hold them in high respect at all. That was "hmm" moment for me.

Notice they put some MMA action in that pic. Wonder if anything specifically has been written against it? I recall, at least in the 80s, my elder father watching boxing. Pretty much same thing.
