(I had previously thought it was something about llamas...)
Haha...thought the same thing Kudra. Someone who was really into their llamas. (Llamas All Cool)

i could go on and on about all the things i loved, but i'll keep it brief and just mention one, rather trivial thing: music.
i love grunge and punk, and occasionally heavy metal, and can't listen to a lot of it as a witness..
In grade school I was a helluva runner (well guess still could be...if I didn't like Doritos and beer so much) and desperately wanted to join Track & Field. Teachers would hound me to join. That and hockey. Hockey flows thru my veins and I'd spend entire weekends playing road or pond hockey. If I could reverse time and change things it would be to play organized hockey from a young age.
I agree with Miz...missed education opportunities. Only did the bare minimum to get thru high school and never ever entertained college or university. Not that it is too late....but if I could go back I would've pursued something in the field of science. That is if I didn't make the NHL first....
Stanley Cup Final...Game 7..score tied 2-2...in overtime...."unshackled steals the puck at center, two-on-one with Lemieux, pass to Mario, back to Shack....he shoots, HE SCORES! Unshackled has won the Stanley Cup!!
Guess NHL11 on PS3 will have to do.
the matrix - "do you want the blue pill or the red pill?
", "all i offer you is the truth", "ignorance is bliss", "the matrix is all around us".
shutter island - creepy, is it real or isn't it, it turns out the whole thing is a dream.
Deliverance ...one particular scene reminds me of what being a JW was like.
Good call Quendi....Shawshank Redemption

Yep, I couldn't. Also got some spittle on my monitor in the process.
for me it was many things.
most concerned certain teachings that invloved genders, children, sex, sexuality and sexual orientations, disfellowshipping, apostates, blood, rape, and few other things, as well as the jw's unloving attitude toward so many people..
Was never one to get into deep study of scripture, so it wasn't anything regarding JW doctrines. It was a combination of starting to doubt the bible's divinity, questioning the existence of the god of the bible, and then rampant hyprocrisy in the congregations.
An intrinsic resistance of authority and a hate for wearing ties helped too.
i find the board is getting very unfriendly of late.
used to be great to be aboard.
but the snipping that so many.
Please don't leave on account of a few troublemakers. Please stay on account of those of us that love you and need you.
This is a good point Billy. I don't understand why some on here let the actions of a few troublemakers void the appreciation of many. The reality is there is no scenario in life where you can make everyone like you. So why "punish" the majority for the actions of a minority? It is like a pro athlete retiring because even though thousands of fans cheered for him, there were a few that booed.
It is clear you are wanted here Grace. Hope to see you back.
it is a pleasure to read some of the topics posted in this forum.
finally i decided to register.
i have now the certainty that when i am sitting down at the kh listening to teachings i do not accept i am not alone in this world, maybe thousands feel the same way.
Welcome aboard, Eclectic. If you're more interested in reality over "the Truth" you've come to the right place.

First one that comes to mind is Ben Harper's Fly One Time. Been listening to that one lately....great motivator to get busy living.
Standing
At the edge of your life
At the edge of our lives
Don't hold on, there's no fighting back the years
It's so hard to unlearn fears
Now that you're caught between What you can't leave behind
And all that you may never find
So fly, just fly
Just fly one time
