almost every atheist i have ever come across i can get along with well.
i love to debate and talk about the world around us and they seem to as well, but i feel like i get a lot of "eye rolls" from the atheists i speak to.. it's ironic that i am six feet six inches tall because i would describe myself as a man with his head in the clouds.
it's up there most of the time and i feel at home when thinking of the future.

Atheists generalize about theists. Theists generalize about atheists. Both sides get mad at the other side for doing what they, themselves, do.
And we know it doesn't end there. That can be extended to any form of group, be it race, nationality, political leanings, even products we use. Negative aspect of human nature.

Sab, I'll take that as sarcasm. I hope. Personally, I don't like the word atheist or being labelled such. Seems like a waste of time. We don't make up words for other things people don't believe in. What's the word for someone who doesn't believe in fairies?

a hardcore scientific atheist will have a hard time even speaking about the possibilities laid out in science fiction. You might as well talk to a brick wall.
I think this is a broad generalization. Maybe the people you know specifically, but don't think all atheists can be painted with that brush so easily.

Disturbing the masses are so daft. Reminds me of this Sam Harris quote:

Exactly, wobble. What is sin? Who gets to determine we are ALL sinners? Since I don't believe in a god, the word sinner has no meaning. But believers in god label us all sinners…that is a rather self-assuming judgement they can't make.

The whole message falls apart either way...because a supreme being didn't sit around 14 billion years to deliver a divinely inspired book to us humans a mere 2000-3000 years ago on this tiny speck of rock, to let us know we're are all a bunch of pathetic sinners.
Doesn't matter which book you like best - the bible, koran, book of mormon, or lord of the rings.
