  WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?

  hi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.

  please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

  i hate this cult.

  ive been shunned by my offspring for 25+ years now--except for my 37 year old son--who was d/f'd about 4 years back. he and i have been building bridges since i found him on facebook. his 1st marriage had failed---big time--and he had found love elsewhere. he is getting married later this year--i have a wedding invite!!--a first for me from my kids.

  i know is mother shuns him--and his new family are appalled by this behaviour--ive met them

  i had occasion to call his mother yesterday--about my jw father--her father in law--who is in a care home a walk away from her house. she has visited him--ONCE--in 4 months!! he is now very mentally confused--and not getting ANY visits from the local gang of holier than thou bigots.

  anyway--i raised the subject of our son--and its clear she will have no contact with him---a very vehement and staunch attitude. she is now 64--and i can see her going to her grave without ever seeing him again.

  what a sick--destructive religion.

  lurkers please take all this onboard--if you're considering your position in the religion.

  How do you react when you happen upon the name jehovah

  whenever i here that name, maybe in conversation with someone who doesnt know my past, i feel anger welling up instantly inside me.. if there were a jw in sight, i think i could give him a jolly good shaking.. just hearing that name does things to me.. jesus = love.

  jehovah = hate, selfishness, divisiveness, and domineering manipulation.. so much for jdubs "honoring " his name.

  he's sure got a bad reputation based on how they live their lives..

  Ever Have A Close Call?

  yesterday i had a close call on the road - an out-of-control pickup truck veered into my lane, spinning as it approached and crashed into a pole about 50 feet in front of my car.

  this is the second close encounter i've had, (both involving someone driving a pickup truck).

  in this case, a couple of seconds made a huge difference, since i may have been directly hit had i just been a bit further along in my drive.. i would imagine that once a few days pass, i'll give less and less thought to the incident and i doubt it will precipitate major changes in my life or outlook (which i generally think is pretty healthy).

  back in the 70's--in birmingham UK--i was in the mulberry bush pub--in the Rotunda--- in the bull ring--at lunch time. with my jw 1st wife.

  later that day--on the news---i heard the place was bombed out--many deaths.

  once we found out we were all witnesses, we all hugged.

  now we just had to see if our kingdom hall was still standing.

  when we came to the hall we had such a huge shock.. there were so many people there.

  problem is--so many dubs really do think like this---and it gives them a somewhat cold attitude to outsiders--just corpses in waiting.

  and--other dubs--if they die now--no big deal--resurrected in a few weeks. why even bother cremating them?

  it's kind of long but tell us what you think....it was all i could do to stop myself from making a snarky comment.

  a young couple very much wanted to have a family, but his wife could not conceive, so they decided to adopt a baby.

  but--i used to laugh at that saying. as if this almighty universe-creator could really give a toss about the behaviour of his puny little self-appointed protectors.---if he's so powerful why does he need to rely on point one of a % of the population to defend him.
