a tremendous amount of knowledge, wisdom, great debate, and lol humor, which is good for the soul.. i am not a jw, but the borg infected my family years ago, many are still trapped, and i have 2 big shot elders.. i became a huge opposer/apostate and had many a battle.

today we have learned to live in peace...live and let live.. recently, i decided to get up to date with everything jw... i often wonder why my family can't see or figure out the real truth.

traditionally, women have had a poor deal from the society: no positions of responsibility, no priviledges.. at the same time, the congregations have suffered from an acute shortage of elders.. ( the society have long realised that many elders are simply puppets, with their wife's hand inserted within pulling the strings).

all is about to change!.

however, to avoid any confusion, certain conditions have to be applied:

Dress code;

any sister reaching out for the position of elder will have to dress suitably, the society "suggest" sombre, drab trouser-suits should be worn, together with flat shoes.

Appearance;

make-up is not to be applied, hairstyles must be short, neat, slicked down. Where possible, nature permitting, a small, neat moustache should be encouraged.
Jewellery, inc., earrings are out.

i'm hoping to get clarity on a few points, but please, don't think i'm too lazy to do my own research: i do not have a bible in my house.. or the koran.

or the book of mormon.

or a copy of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (unfortunately ).

i so agree with you about this. i used to get so mad at the WTS quoting bits to try to prove their points

i think i can recall that "jehovah smelled a restfull smoke "-- i'm surprised the WTS didn't tuck-up with a tobacco company to exploit this
