  How many have read 'Crisis of Conscience'?

  for me it was the book!

  it opened my eyes.

  i started it thinking it would just enlighten me about how the organisation works.

  ive read most of it.

  i found it far more interesting from about half way through---

  -so if anyone does start and finds it heavy going---skip to the second half.

  if i remember--the first half seemed very watchtower-ish. i glazed over.

  BACK TO TWICKERS IN 2014

  we had a letter read at the end of the wt study today announcing twickenham for our convention, 22-24 august 2014. no amex next year then.. there was also a letter read saying not to book hotels except from the wts list as this would help make it cheaper for the majority as the wts will have greater bargaining power!.

  they are also hoping to book buses and trains.. what a scam.. george.

  Simon--i think your OP was aimed at me--mate:

  i had seen a "bigmac you have a PM" message at the end of the EX JW UK thread. this was from a long standing prolific poster on here: the sender was trying to contact me--to enlist my help in a private matter. i live on an island--and as far as i am aware only one other poster lives here.

  my point is---this site is a massive resource---and very often the only way a member can make first contact with another--by the PM srvice.

  now--lets be honest--the little blue envelope is hardly eye catching--in fact--i rarely even notice it.---yet i visit this site several times a day--every day. its part of my life.

  once again--thank you for creating and developing this site. i'm sure its helped many cult leavers keep their sanity.

  Yet most deaths due to Watchtower’s blood doctrine never see the news. Why? It’s not sufficiently sensational

  i cant agree with that--not in the UK. the young man's story i referred to above made national TV on several occasions. the blood issue has always been BIG news in the UK.

  dont get me wrong---i'm not trying to knock down this thread--in fact--the blood doctrine was the key reason i quit the cult in 1971.

  i really think if 50 thousand had died from refusing--it would have become an international scandal and may well have toppled the watchtower.
