i'm sure many of us know of people who gave their lives to the cult then have nothing and get nothing in the form of help from jw's.. i know a man who gave up a very good job with great benefits many years ago because the watchtower had a conflict with his noble occupation.
of course the end was coming very soon so the man took a meager retirement and quit because of the watchtower.

i visited dad this aft.
i know he had occasional visits from a 90 year old sis who lived locally. i remember her from 40 years ago--her teenage daughter used to work for me.
her son ( never a jw ) came to see him--to tell him his mum had passed away.
i wonder if the local elders will bother to tell him.
just as well we have a close relationship----or he would have no-one.

ive posted this before----my jw dad is in a care home--he has mild dementia. hes 93.
we have a close relationship--he never shunned me. i see him several days a week.
my jw ex wife--and daughter---his family------live half a mile from the care home. my ex went to see him--once--in 18 months. his granddaughter ( my daughter 43 )----has NEVER been to see him at all.
the local elders have stopped seeing him. its like he's already died it seems.
this cult is beyond reason.
i have been an elder for 6 years.
it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.
i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.
what a grim exsistence you live,, Fader---i can empathise with you.
i was married young--at 20--to a 3rd gen born in. she finally divorced me after i quit the cult. i went on to meet and marry a lovely lady---we had 24 years together.
well, now they want a follow up visit!
when you tell the elders that you have doubts and they say " its okay, we have had our doubts.
having doubts is not apostasy.
just tellem youve got money problems---then ask them if they can help you out with a loan----do you think you will see them again ?
i read about them here, on the board.
i am so thankful that i choose not to go anymore..
I knew of a prominent elder who gave a talk at the District Convention and later that afternoon was at a strip club in Providence RI, not far from the downtown area of where the convention was being held.........

ive been well rid of this cult for more than 34 years now--having realised that i was a true atheist many years before. however--i'm perfectly happy to share membership of this site with those who still need to believe in their preferred deity.
please spare a moment to consider the difiiculties faced by gay jehovahs witnesses.
i was raised and baptised as a very serious jw.
every waking moment of my day was lived for jehovahs and his organization and for nothing else.
