Bethel Rules

this was brought up just in passing on another thread.

but i wanted to see if there are any bethelites or ex bethelites that remember some of the crazy rules we had to follow when we were there..

Bethel seems nuts! I went on a tour back in 06 to patterson, walkill, and brooklyn bethel. Nice tour. I was in kinda a bad mood. This one lady (looked like the perfect Halle Berry lookalike) Man, she was really sweet, and she made me feel so much better. Her clothes looked 'a little out of touch' with the times (this was 2006 her clothes looked like they were 1995, I dunno). The tour of Brooklyn was really nice (omg it was soooo clean) and the artwork in patterson was really beautiful. The guy that sponsed the tour was really nice but he seemed (and still seems) like a pervert!!

What happens if you accidentally fart at bethel?? You sit down and get 'talked to' about that by the bethel elders?? Crazy place.

What magazine is this? Whenever I've seen protrayals of Jesus in the Watchtower publications, he's always had dark hair with olive colored skin (ex. the greatest man on earth' book).

Blondie, thank you, once again, I do recongize the demographics, laws, different time periods, etc. But If Jehovah is such a 'just God' a God who loves all unconditional, no matter what, who, or how, why did he choose mostly white people to be apart of the annointed?? I understand what your saying, but its just the WTBTS...it makes no sense to me. Its funny how a 'Dub' tries to justify things. Not sayin you, blondie.

While what your are saying does makes since from a demographical standpoint, I think that if this was truly God Organization, the truth, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, (like they always make themselves out to be) then there would be more people of color, (and women) on top. I just find it intresting that all of the annointed that I've ever came across, rather in person, or hearing a talk on tape, were ALL WHITE. I'm like, damn, Jehovah most really only like white people, no other races is going to be up in heaven with him (just joking) LOL.

I dont understand why the WTBTS tries to make themselves out to be like there so different. The truth about the truth is that their not different like they claim to be. Just like you said, its all just business as usual. Having power over people's lives gets them 'off'. Dont even get me started on that

flitered 'Faith in Action' DVD that the GB just released. OMG that David Splaine guy comes off as the biggest douche bag on that planet, wanna be bible scholar know it all. And how they had the token black gov't body member (Sam Herd) 'host' the beginning of the program. Nope, its not gonna cut it. Stop trying to make yourselves out to be different. Your just the same.

Yes, I always wondered why most of the so called 144,000 were old elderly white people ( I was born in 1983 so by this time, I'm talking 85 years old and up lol) growing up in a mostly african american congregation. And theres hardly NO ANNOINTED amongst spanish congregations AT ALL. Its seems like latent racism at its best. The witnesses talk about how there so harmonius but the more that I look into things, starting to find out thats not true. A sister that stays down the street from me was playing a talk in her car, and she told me that the brother giving the talk was annointed, and asked her how she knew. Her son, who was in the backseat, said because of the holy spirit, and something other, like that.

Oh well, what do you expect from the rub a dubs?

Hey blondie, still trying to follow what you mean. I know about the first century christians were annointed but the WTS teaches this (sorry still doing a lot of research).

hardly no annointed JW's of other races ? Most minorities have 'an earthly hope?' Any help would be appreciated. Not trying to cause
