I fully agree with you Black sheep!
The writer totally mislead the reader or doenst know where he or she is talking about.
When astronomical event occur or been calculated you can link this event to an existing king during this event.
This is the Almagest for and not the other way arround.

Whatever you do, arrive at 1914
by Doug Mason inthe wts claims that the length of babylons king nebuchadnezzars suppressed state symbolised the suppressed state of gods kingdom.
each day of the heathen kings lack of control represented a year of heathen supremacy.. .
since nebuchadnezzars experience was symbolic, it would have ended before the fulfilment started; unfortunately the hebrews scriptures do not specify that moment.

Hi Egg,
You say:
"Not one of the Watchtower articles you cite here provide any of the dates you inserted into your post. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe these dates you provided in your message to be accurate. You didn't get them from theWatchtower, so where did you get them?"
So all mentioned dates in the WT are not accurate ( 1914, 607BC, 537BC and 539BC )
If you proof 539BC then you disaprove 607 BC or if you state 607 BC is true then you disaprove 539BC ( then the 70 years are also wrong!) .
So egg which one you choose, you can not serve two lords in this case.
I think you do your cherry picking stuff and that you cannot choose any statement then i didnt mentioned to motivate one of your statements!

Egg,
In Post 410 you ask me what I think.
I say you pasted wrong BC dates after the ruled kings or people.
There are some arguments that you can be of by two years but what you mentioned make no sense.
Others already mentioned your BC dates errors.

Our history and Bible tell us that Tyre was under a 13 year siege from Nebu. ( 586–573BC)
Ithobaal III or Ethbaal II was the king of Tyre during this time frame 591-573 BC
We Know that Baal II when on the throne in 573 - 564BC and we know that Carthage whent independent in 574BC.
So Egg your above list make either no sense.
History and bible tell us a strong chronical during the discused period. Its al well documented.
Then the WTS makes with no proof and twisted interpretations some statement where no one can find support for these statements.
We all know the WTS is wrong for more then 100%, but that is no problem they are still human after all.
We know that the Bible and history are in line during this period.
Conclusion:
The WTS has a problem with their errors. They still make WRONG statements. All the time they are Cherry picking events in history and twist them to make a wrong calculated foundation. And there they built there belief system on.

In the spring or early summer of 609 BC, Necho II went to war against Babylon, in aid of the Assyrians. He moved his forces along the coast route Via Maris into Syria, the low tracts of Philistia and Sharon and prepared to cross the ridge of hills which shuts in on the south the Jezreel Valley. There he found his passage blocked at Megiddo by the Judean army led by Josiah, who sided with the Babylonians. After a fierce battle Josiah was killed. ( 2 Kings 23:29 ; 2 Chronicles 35:20-24 ) The Assyrians and their allies the Egyptians fought the Babylonians at Harran. The Babylonian Chronicle dates the battle from Tammuz (July–August) to Elul (August–September) of 609 BC. Josiah was therefore killed in the month of Tammuz, 609 BC, 609 BC or the month prior, when the Egyptians were on their way to Harran. [ 3 ] Chronological considerations related to his successor limit the month in which Josiah was killed and Jehoahaz took the throne to Tammuz. He was deposed three months later, in the month Tishri (2 Kings 23:31).
Necho proceeded with his campaign against the Babylonians, joining forces with the Assyrian Ashur-uballit II and together they crossed the Euphrates and laid siege to Harran, which they failed to capture, and retreated back to northern Syria, and the Assyrian Empire collapsed.
On his return march from the Babylonian campaign, Necho dealt with the Judeans who had fought for the wrong side. He found that the Judeans had selected Jehoahaz to succeed his father Josiah. Necho deposed Jehoahaz and appointed his older brother Eliakim as king, who took the throne name Jehoiakim. He also imposed a tribute of 100 talents of silver and unknown amount of gold upon Judah. He brought Jehoahaz back to Egypt as his prisoner, where Jehoahaz ended his days. [ 4 ] ( 2 Kings 23:31 ; 2 Chronicles 36:1-4 )
Jehoiakim was installed as king of Judah by pharaoh Necho II in 608 BC, who deposed his younger brother Jehoahaz after a reign of only three months and took him to Egypt, where he died. [ 2 ] Jehoiakim ruled originally as a vassal of the Egyptians, paying a heavy tribute. To raise the money he "taxed the land and exacted the silver and gold from the people of the land according to their assessments." [ 7 ]
However, when the Egyptians were defeated by the Babylonians at Carchemish in 605 BC, Jehoiakim changed allegiances, paying tribute to Nebuchadrezzar II of Babylon.
This means Daniel went in 605 BC to babylon when Jehoiakim pay his tribute to babylon for the first time! Nebu was not even installed as King at that point. Like Belthassar was named king in 539 BC beacuse his father was not able to rule so did nebu did beacuse his father stayed in Babylon. Later that year in 605BC his father died and Nebu. was installed as king.
If daniel had a 3 year study from the beginning of his captivity he would finished in the 2nd year of Nebu. Daniel 2 fits in this.
So Djeggnogg what is your problem?
History, bible and astronomical events proof the above points.
Where is your proof?
Show us please your sources otherwise you will be a big Joke if you are not already for some arround here.
Answer our questions please if we have some if you think you know best.

So Djeggnog;
you say when the romans destroy Jerusalem at 70 AD they became world power then?
For the Babylon case they had Judah already under control before they destroy Jerusalem. Even after the destroy of this city they went no world power beacuse they have still big fights with Egypt!
If you project your philosophy on WWII you will create also an mess what you already do now for this Babylon case.
If you compare outher war campains you see the same line coming back!
If you accept 539 BC as an event where you descriped the fall of Babylon then theer are consequences what you dont try to see.
You can not say with this value then that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 BC its the same saying 5 + 2 = 9
We know that the answer is 9 but we dont try to see how we get to 9.
If you like to promote 607 BC the you need to drop 539 BC as the fall for Babylon and need to make it 559BC for this event.
WTS and math cant go into one door thats for shure.
