  my girlfriend was raised in the midst of jws.

  she never went to the kh while we dated but she did attend assemblies once a year.

  birthday celebrations were never an issue for us.

  @jamienbower, I/we don't have any children but in the future I would like to have some. I would like to have some, but the differences and the future issues I KNOW we will have makes me ill. ESP, if I feel this way now. . . putting children in the mix will only complicate things more. So should I just had over my future intentions on having children? I told her off top that if we were to have any, they were forbidden to step foot anywhere near a KM!!

  Can I please have more input from others on the board? I greatly appreciate all the responses.

  @ cantleave, she didnt ask me what I wanted to do on my birthday and I celebrate them. So why should I ask her "what you want to do" when she "claims" not to celebrate?

  @s0rt3d, i believe ill lose more respect for her if she did want to go out and paint the town.

  @wasblind, ive realized it now that I do have a long road ahead of me. She knows i'll never be a JW

  This is really what I don't understand, she is convicted in her mind not to watch rated R movies, get up a 6am on Saturdays to publish, and watch all her associations but wheres the conviction when she disrespects and over talks her husband?? She doesn't celebrate 4th of July, but she wanted to go out and see the fireworks. Memorial Day we were out with her "30 years of studying mother" BBQn at the city park. Get off the fence so I can clearly see which side your on. We have been married only alittle over a year now and it's hard for me to adjust to all of these changes overnight.

  I want to take my wife out and allow her to enjoy the day of her birth, yet if she is taught not to celebrated. . i should be obligated to respect her beliefs. . RIGHT??

  My girlfriend was raised in the midst of JWs. She never went to the KH while we dated but she did attend assemblies once a year. Birthday celebrations were never an issue for us. We took romantic trips, dined at fine restaurants, exchanged lovely gifts, and velvet cake w/white icing became her favorite. But from the very moment I made her my wife, birthdays were of the devil. After we exchanged vows, my birthday came 1 st . I spent it alone at a restaurant.

  Exactly how should I treat her birthday since it is quickly approaching? Should I even acknowledge it?

  Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you taking time out to clarify your thoughts. Im on this board not to debate or to convince you/anyone of what they should believe. Really, if you firmly believe your org. is Yahweh's sole channel of communication on earth today, who am I to convince you other wise?

  I don't believe a son can be his father. Nor do I believe 3 = 1. However I do believe that 1 x 1 x 1= 1. Really my own personal beliefs or my denomination really is of no importance here. What is important is that I hear and examine what JWs and ExJWs have to say. Im glad you are here on this board because you present a different stance.

  Thanks for the warnings concerning this site. I see your faith is unwavering. Being a JW, can I ask, why exactly are you on this board?

  My purpose for our discussions is not to convert her. I can only plant the seed and let Yahweh give the increase. She has to make the choice for herself. I'm actually glad to have a spiritual discussion with her. This is something we have never had since becoming married.

  Of course I will use the books LOL and PDF won't work with her. She won't read anything printed out which is why I brought all the books. Truth can never be hidden over covered up, it always comes out. I'll make sure i'll do more research into 1943 when those teachings began to be taught. Thank you for your sugguestions they have been of help.

  Thanks for the response. My point is I have no problem understanding the Bible. If you have an issue with Jesus and His relationship to the Father there are many wonderful translations of the Bible available which you know about other than the NWT. I'm not here to debate with you or anyone else.

  If you believe Jesus Christ is actually Michael, who am I to judge you? You will have to give an account for that. Not S.Finesse. Did Paul send publications to help the early church understand his letters? Throughout what centuries are you referring to exactly, I’m a bit confused?

  Her being a JW is indeed her choice and as well, she has to give an account for her choice. As her husband, I will surrender an account for my household because man is the head. Did God blame Eve or Adam for the sin? I assume you are not married and a female. I will love her despite whatever decision she makes. You speak “tactics” but I speak unconditional love for my wife.

  In the courts, do the jurors only hear the plaintiff and not the defendant? That wouldn’t be a fair trial would it? An innocent person’s life could be taken away from them if the plaintiff only spoke. Isn’t it wise to examine both sides to determine the truth? My wife deserves to hear the other side so she can make a choice based on facts, history and truth. I’m sure you agree that’s fair right?

  Me and my wife will be just fine, I appreciate your posts and concerns about my marriage debator.

  They have a table at the local Walmart now

  omg i just heard this morning that they have a table set up at the local walmart, so i had to drive by.

  it is huge with two huge signs one spanish and one english of blown up pictures of some of the book covers like you can live forever and young people ask, etc with a card table in the middle and two very boarded looking people just sitting there.

  this morning was the spanish congo's turn but the walmart is in my halls territory so the english speaking ones from my hall will man it on the english speaking times i guess.

  Shouldnt the JWs leave Wal-mart for the Boys and Girls Club of America? I'm sure the kids could use that spot to sell there wonderful cookies.

  the other day i was talking to a jw in her 30's and mentioned jonestown and she had no idea what i was talking about.

  she had never heard of it.

  with all their harping about the dangers of 'false' religion, you would think that jonestown, heaven's gate, and the like would be right up their alley and would be brought up often as examples of why one should never leave the safety of the one true religion.

  I feel sorry for most because they sincerly believe that this is God's org. I am fairly new to the realm of interacting with JWs but one thing i have quickly realized is how arrogant they are. I used to take offense to it but now I treat them as 3 yr. olds speaking profanity. How can you be upset with a child saying curse words? They only recite the words they hear at home from their parents. I laugh inside because they know curse words but can't say all the ABCs in order.
