  To be honest, I don't know what to believe about the spirit world anymore. I sure don't believe in hell, though...

  my jehovah witness parents spent the week with me at my house.

  when i suggested to watch a movie with them i thought we would watch the movie "avatar" i got on blue ray.

  they were so shocked as they waved their hands in front of them saying, "no way!

  I think a lot of JW's are prejudiced against everything Sci-Fi. My mom HATES Star-Trek, etc. She's utterly horrified at seeing people dressed up as aliens. Perhaps it's too anti-god for their liking...

  i first came across jwd when i lived in hawaii, i think so anyway.

  it was during 2001. i had first hit the net in 1999. looked for the official watchtower site and come across articles about ray franz and others mistreated and either kicked out or frozen out.

  i always knew i'd never be able to resist reading "apostate" literature.

  for me, it's the complex carbohydrates that when drunk with pizza, provides unmatched nutrition.

  i drink harp, smithwick's, and guinness.. how about you?.

  A bit of an update: I finally got a positive diagnosis of ADHD a little while ago (after looking for about 20yrs). I'm finally getting the help I really need to move on with my life. I'm making friends and doing things. Things are looking up...

  i stumbled on to this forum about a month ago...and i'm hooked!!

  a tremendous amount of knowledge, wisdom, great debate, and lol humor, which is good for the soul.. i am not a jw, but the borg infected my family years ago, many are still trapped, and i have 2 big shot elders.. i became a huge opposer/apostate and had many a battle.

  today we have learned to live in peace...live and let live.. recently, i decided to get up to date with everything jw... i often wonder why my family can't see or figure out the real truth.

  I find it interesting that you asked me about dealing with family, braveheart. All I can say is to keep your mouth shut when it comes to things religious. My worries stem from the fact that a typical JW congregation is a nest of rats and spies. If you haven't been baptized you have relatively little to worry about. But if you're baptized, you have almost everything to fear for. I'm readying myself for that possibility.

  As a newb, you've just realized that you only have 10 posts in a day. Use them wisely. If you keep doing your thing here regularly, you'll see the total jump to 100 after a while. Also feel free to use the edit function. It's the little pencil thing next to everyone's posts. Have fun and see ya in 24.
