  I'm disgusted. So, I'm formally challenging Djeggnog to either substantiate or retract his outrageous claim that:

  1. Russell made no predictions about 1914.

  2. Specifically, Russell never predicted Christ's "coming" for 1914. (He reluctantly admitted that Russell taught 1874 to be the year beginning Jesus 'presence', but not that he taught Christ's "Coming" in power would be in 1914, or any other date, presumably)

  This history behind this is that DJ has made many false claims about the history or his Organization, as he attempts to defend their record. These can be found in this thread:

  DJ's false claims have been utterly debunked with direct and explicit quotes from the Society's literature. The most recent claim, outlined above, was also debunked at length, more than once, with multiple quotes. However, DJ uses a most infuriating tactic employed by only the most dishonest and shameless debaters - he simply ignores the evidence and continues his lies as if nothing has happened. When someone ignores a body of clear evidence disproving their claim - evidence not open to interpretation, but explicit - and yet fails to make a retraction or even to acknowledge such evidence, that is dishonourable. But when this evidence is actually asked for - which DJ did - and is consequently presented several times by an obliging poster and yet he not only ignores this, but continues to repeat the false, debunked, claim despite the evidence, that makes him a liar, IMO.

  This is low, dishonest, infuriating behaviour in any discussion but is particularly shameful for a professed Christian. As I can't get DJ to respond either to me or the quotes of his Organizations own leaders in the thread linked above, I'm calling him on it here, out in the open.

  So, I'm calling you a liar DJ, and your reputation is on the line. Defend or retract the latest claim you made, described above. I will present the evidence again, in my next post, as may others if they wish, and you can respond, either with a rebuttal or a retraction. But I'd ask others not to divert the conversation or change the topic. Nor is this a thread intended as a place to generally attack DJ or other WT apologists. Although I would appreciate bumps so that DJ gets a chance to see this and respond.

  But I don't want to hear any excuse making from you DJ. I don't want pointless epic epistles on other subjects. Stick to the point. You don't need to write a thousand lines. I want you to be accountable for this claim of yours only. Any such equivocation and distraction will only confirm your status as a liar and a fraud, as will silence. Put up or shut up.

  Have your JW Relatives Explained about Generation/Overlap Change to You ?

  after reading on the way out's thread about his mom explaining the generation overlap to him it kicked this idea into my head to make this thread .

  i thought it would be helpful to see if anybody here has had jw relatives or friends try to explain this " generation overlap " theory to you as a faded or inactive witness and what happened in the conversations.

  so please feel free to post your experiences.

  Well, I judge you to be a fraud, an idolator and a liar. Older men must qualify by meeting Scriptural standards, which you fall far short of. Therefore you have no authority and so I reject your "judgments"

  You repeatedly make various false claims and ignore incontrovertible evidence disproving them - the statements of your Organizations very own leaders. Despite your lie to the contrary, Russell certainly did predict Jesus "coming" - not his "presence", his "coming" - for 1914, as the evidence on page 10 shows with crystal clarity. This is just the latest of your exposed false claims. But you don't have the humility to admit this or correct it in the face of such evidence. You make no attempt to research the truth about the history your own organization before making false statements. Instead you make others do the work for you, hand feeding you quotes - which you ask for - and when they do so, after having done the work for you, you ignore them, not even having the courtesy to respond and failing to let the clear facts guide your statements. Instead you repeat your false claims, despite knowing they are false. That makes you a liar. You have no interest in the truth but only in protecting your delusions, both about your own personal grandeur and about the Society you worship in place of God. You "lord it over" those here, pretending to have authority, as you presume to act as teacher, writing interminably and deceptively about things of which you are willfully ignorant, yet failing to pat attention to anything anyone else says or even to what your own Organization has written.

  As Jesus said:

  "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." - Matt 7:5.

  Mad, thats all I wanted to hear. Ruach, Spirit, can indeed mean a disembodied spirit being, what Christians call a "soul"

  Your comment that "it doesn't" is just a matter of interpretation. Different interpretations are possible. That being so, I think it's better to go with an interpretation that actually makes sense rather than one which generates fake clone zombies created to replace the original which died long before.

  Reason demands continuity for the person, if the Bible's promises are to be believed. The soul doctrine satisfies reason because it provides continuity. The JW doctrine doesn't.

  Exactly, if Ruach or Spirit can equate to a spirit being then it can equate to a soul, which for a time was embodied, but then left when the body died.

  Mad, Maybe "living soul' just means 'embodied soul'? 'Life' and 'living' for a human is human life in a body.

  Anyway, I think the discussion about the meaning of the word in Hebrew and what is meant by soul to Christians is a bit of a red herring. If for the Hebrews, the word meant they used for soul meant "the soul when united with the body" (the united package) then perhaps they had another word for the soul when not united with the body? Do you see what I mean?

  I don't have any but am glad to have left behind the JW rules regarding them. Obviously, you need to be really careful about choosing them. I think some look really beautiful. They can be useful for women for covering stretch marks that they don't like. I know of some women who got them for that reason.

  I like the ones that are whole large sections of subtle intricate pattern, rather than bold isolated images, if you know what I mean.

  What is the relevance of where the soul was or the condition of the body?

  Who knows or cares where the soul was, in heaven or some other place? Who cares about the condition of the body? Are you asking if God could recreate a decomposed body to house a soul?

  Well, yeah. A body is just a vehicle, easy to recreate or repair. The soul actually is the person, one of a kind. It requires continuity.

  he's using this forum to spam all of us into going to his wts defending website.

  he also claims to be a regular pioneer and gets the majority of his time by posting on this site.

  LOL. Your performance here is like "solving a crossword puzzle" only if you feel that the solution to 1 Down, 5 letters "wrongful or criminal deception" is "Truth".

  But then, you've been calling fraud "The Truth" all your life. So t's only logical you would do that here too.

  And your arrogance is so misplaced it's deeply embarrassing. You make a fool of yourself here day after day, being exposed, your arguments thoroughly refuted, your 'reasoning' absolutely defeated, yet you flounce around as if you're actually good at what you do.

  You remind me of some girl who thinks she's "all that", strutting around town, smirking to herself as passersby stare at her, thinking she is admired - oblivious to the fact she's actually a public laughingstock because she has the back of her skirt tucked into her knickers. LOL.

  Mad, you just don't get it do you.

  The question is not whether God can remember you, it's whether the recreated so-called 'you' can really remember you! LOL.

  It's like implanting memories into a clone. It wouldn't actually be you because there was no continuity. It would just be something that looks like you do, walks and talks like you do and even thinks it's you, but it isn't. You're dead and gone.

  That might be OK for God, and perhaps even for the clone, but not so hot for the real you.
