many people ask why someone like me, who came from a christian home, went to a christian high school and then went on to spend five years in seminary and become a pastor, a missionary, and an evangelist, would turn his back on the god he spent a lifetime worshiping and serving and give up all faith in the supernatural.
the answer is very simple, and im about to give it.
first, however, let me tell you what the reason is not.. most people, upon hearing my story, all unanimously decide regardless of their own spiritual beliefs or religious affiliations that i must be mad at god.
Whereami....
Sobering...

so did the 'da society' give these dub internet savvies permission to start a forum?
because last i checked, the ole boys in their oversized brooklyn bunker didn't want their members on the internet unless it was to view their own official websites.
i thought maybe it was an apostate forum until i read their long winded, typically condescending jdub style membership guidelines:.
I am starting to worry about myself lately ... I'm sitting here all alone and keep breaking out with insane giggling and laughter!!! Bit of nattering also....maybe it's a good sign, it might mean I'm seeing more & more, the crazyness of all this religion stuff crap!!
I mean it's rediculous to take any of it seriously ... the more you look at it, the more it looks all the same!
"The Church of Scientology asks its members to quit all communication with people the Church deems are perpetually antagonistic to Scientology. The practice of shunning in Scientology is termed disconnection. Members can disconnect with parents, children, spouses, and friends"
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha-oh sorryhahaha

on another thread there was an interesting outgrowth as a result of a post.
someone commented about the person in the experience asking the wtbts for forgiveness>.
maybe some thread has already been created about this, i just found it interesting..
MTM hi, haven't seen you on here for a long time!
Do you remember the watchtower condeming the catholic church priests and the confession box. Confession to a man for forgiveness of a sin - that's terrible. The watchtower never does t.........oh wait .... What about those meetings where 3 or more men want your confession of wrong doing & brazen conduct!!!!

just curious, because i'm trying to get my head around what makes someone think they were annointed?
and then, if they left, what made them realise they weren't?
and how did you feel about discovering that.. i read crisis of concience and that was a real turning point for me, i don't think there is any going back to old thought processess after that.
StillThinking hello,
"What makes someone think they were annointed?"
>
I never gave it a thought - to be of the 'annointed', as the only choice given me was to live on earth in paradise. Being that I love the ground I walk on, I was an easy 'mark'! Had there been another choice....I might have drunk the wine also!
Now of course I realize that is a lot of bunk. So if indeed we are to be in Heaven with Christ, I find the idea of it extremely(oh what the he$$) - happifying! Seriously!
In this last year of discovery, things have been revealed to me that are simply amazing. I have learned to be open, to say 'I don't know' and that it ain't over till it's over!!
Loz, you came here before me and I never read your story till now.. you're such a strong woman hugs

when the watchtower history blog (truthhistory.blogspot.com) people stopped posting on the public site because of harassment issues, apparently from someone using the brooklyn bethel ip address i got access to the private site.
i noticed today that they have now opened it up to public view, saying that the harassment issue was resolved.. the new history blog is here: http://towerhistory.blogspot.com.
this is the best and most detailed material i've seen.
Hi Old Goat,
Thanks for the link .... took a quick look at it and came upon this ...
"Of his several objections the two that seem to draw the strongest attention is Russell’s belief that Revelation 20:5 was spurious. More clearly than anyone in this period, Rotherham refuted this belief. He also took exception to Russell’s treatment of Jesus’ status before God: “Mr. Russell’s manner of speaking of our Lord has caused us pain. He mostly speaks of Him as simply “Jesus” – a thing the Apostles, if we mistake not, seldom did after the resurrection … . While our author very distinctly owns the pre-incarnate spiritual nature of the Savior, he seems, over and over again to purposely avoid attributing to Him absolute Deity prior to his human birth; and so frequently affirms that “since his resurrection he is a perfect spiritual being of the highest or divine order” (p. 175 and elsewhere) as to force one to think that he means to exclude our Lord’s pre-incarnate existence as not equal to this.”
Found in the Christian Herald a review of the 1st Volumn of Millenial Dawn.
Looks like nothing has changed - downplay Jesus importance; and the continual aggrandising of W leaders and now the the arrogant governing body touted as being pretty much equal to Christ! Imagine they are our MEDIATORS!!!! For crying outloud!
Good site!
