Maybe the integrity of jws can be summed-up in the often heard retort...
"even if they are wrong, I still wouldn't leave!"

when i think of integrity, a lot of positive connotations come to mind.
i think of individuals grounded in principles, who do not operate on opinions that change based on the breeze of political or social change.
a life that is directed by a code of morality, not on capricious emotions.
Maybe the integrity of jws can be summed-up in the often heard retort...
"even if they are wrong, I still wouldn't leave!"

hi... i am new and after nearly 20 years after being disassociated at 15 i would like to make contact with others who have similar difficulties.
my mother was disfellowshipped shortly after my rebellion and had all ties with both her mother and brother cut and that remains the case.. just really hacked off with not being able to put things in the proper place in my life after all these years.
for the record i don't know if i believe in god but am searching for some peace as i seem to self destruct on a regular basis.. any ideas anyone?.
Good morning from Canada Kurt ....a big welcome goes out to you. Glad you found jwn. All of us here are very different but the ONE thing that is the same is our experience with a high control, dangerous cult.
Start researching everything that troubles you ...if you haven't already. Many of us thought that it was ourselves who were weak, or wrong ....... we were so deluded ........ it is the other way around. Watchtower's deceit is legion .....they have blood on their hands.
Love & best wishes for you & your family's enlightenment.

i wanted to introduce myself.
like many of you i was born-in, am married with one child.
after 36 years of this cycle: doubts-thought stopping- suppression- indoctrination-cult mode i realised enough was enough.
good for you John ...very best wishes for your family. What was the one thing that shook you awake?

i have published a new article at watchtower corporal punishment, as a response to the testimony that geoff jackson gave at the royal commission.
it includes the relevant part of the transcript, along with a string of watchtower quotes to show that what he presented was not accurate, and that watchtower translates rod as a literal implement to hit children with.
.
Excellent Paul ....just to quickly add, as with so many of 'watchtower behaviours' ....... there are additional unwritten motivational factors.
During a WT study it may be said that "the rod" is not necessarily a spanking, but the point is taken, especially when red faced parents drag their kids to the back for the big wallop! This ritual is 'infectious'! The WT go to answer! As mild & caring a mother as I was, it got to me. The pressure to perform all the activities mandated by WT & to keep it up was a nightmare really, and sometimes something had to give.
Looking back I am appalled that we fell for the lie of watchtower's importance ........

2016 years text.. hebrews 13:1, let your brotherly love continue.. wtf!
your thought please.
.
JW's are told who to love & who to hate. That brotherly love can end forever with just a half dozen words spoken from the kh platform!
Jehovah's witnesses fulfill the prophecy "having NO natural affection"
any takers?
we can pick a date and pull the plug?
lol .
Just to say ........if there had been a campaign like this & I heard about it while in my confusion from all the changing doctrines & rules, and being ignored by the cliques .........this would have saved my sanity! I would have been encouraged & woken-up a lot faster!
Glad we are doing this ......love that we have organized persons onboard.. good luck to all of us who ....."are crying and sighing over all the detestable things" ...................

the new "bible teach" book is out!
thetruthbr has posted links for this and several other of the new publications.
as an educator, i am very interested in where the society is heading with their alleged "bible education" program.
while i was sitting through another grueling watchtower, dying from my brain being turned into cult pudding, i had this thought after i heard this read: .
when we express our most intimate thoughts to god in prayer, he may answer us through a bible passage, an article in a magazine, or an encouraging word from a fellow believer.
-august 2015 watchtard.
My fav comic (RIP) George Carlin on prayer. Warning for those who won't tolerate 4 letter words!
the october 2015 jw broadcast, hosted by gerrit losch is quite positive actually.a lot of focus on "field service" needs to be balanced with other good works - supporting those in need around you - either in the congregation (witnesses) or in your classroom or neighbors (non-witnesses).
visiting and encouraging the sick and elderly is mentioned.
jesus parable of the merciful samaritan is highlighted.
Totally agree with all of you. A BIG IF here, but if they softened up on helping & embracing the rest of the world, could we forget the damage they have done & still do by their miserable & dangerous actions?
It would be the most hypocritical slap in the face for me!

been reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.
i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.
