  As Freddo said, the Co was a great guy, if he & his family were not I would not have been interested either.

  This was before the body of elders thing happened about the mid 1970's. After that things really changed ..... position & money became the important thing. There were the unspoken levels of groups in the congregation. The "friends" started having only people on their A list as friends ......& maybe some B list people. This list got right to the bottom where only the bits & pieces & undesirables were placed ......their lives were hell!

  it seems that some co need much more $$ and in some countries they started to promote multilevel sales among their contact network.

  Oh yes big time! Mostly vitamins & Tea Tree oil products, Amway. Seems like it comes naturally to them ....always trying to flog something!

  The deep things, are the depths of their depravity.

  The story of Lot & his daughters was mentioned .......just like to say that it is a mans world now and was a mans world then. It was not the daughters who raped their father (hello!) it was Lot who blamed his child abuse & rape on them, Of course it would be written that it was the 'womans' fault!

  i tend to avoid the subject because it's too depressing, so i've probably missed lots of discussion about this issue.

  but i read a comment on youtube yesterday that shocked me and made me wonder.

  the person claimed that many years ago abusers in society generally identified jws as a safe haven for abusers and joined en masse order to exploit the situation.

  hello and thanks to everyone for participating on this forum it has really been of much value, for those of you that post here know that your words are not lost you never know who is reading your expressions, lives are being changed and nonsense challenged.

  i’m not much of a writer so excuse my untrained writing style and grammar but i want to share my story to help anyone who is visiting here to see that we are real people, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who have come here for answers, there is no agenda, just searching for truth.

  That gut level of understanding is precious for you & for all of us. No one will ever "get it" like those who have been through this kind of crazy!

  I do hope you will write out the rest of this era in your life and move on with your family to new beginnings.

  Even though I didn't wake-up to realize what was really going on until later in life ....... I still treasure each day of freedom from this totalitarian group who front a 'Land Grabbing Printing CO ........ with a cultish religion !

  People who still have some of their own heart & mind left are leaving in crowds.

  Watchtower is bleeding out and they know it ....... the target has now become our CHILDREN. They used to say we do not baptize children ..... they would ignore our children & recommend spanking to shut them up at the KH .......... now all those "cute little stories" with Caleb ...omg ........and the harping about baptism to chain even 9 & 10 year olds to this evil money sucking cult! I shudder.

  on another thread shepherdless sketched out the past business model of jws and its demise.

  until 1990 they were a straightforward publishing business with the tremendous advantage of free labour in production and free distribution agents.

  since then they've been relying on donations for literature to keep the old model going.
