Vampire - belbab - and - misguided - thank you all.
- couldn't get back on till now, used up all postings for 11 hrs! This is a little confusing at first isn't it! Giggles, guffaws and sniggers from any exjdub's on here will be considered as very elderetteish!! (haha) Now back to business, ..thanks for letting me know about putting this on the Apostafest site Vamp. Don't really get the PM thing, is it just an email? (btw what the heck is Bttt?)
Also a very generous offer Mr & Mrs belbab on Vancouver Isl, thank you so much, sounds wonderful.
Nice to hear from the Okanogan, hi misguided.
The only news I found out so far was that 7 or 8 exjdubs in Vancouver were interested in having a 'group' but were still waiting around for more interest. Looks like there must be more around who have been disillutioned by the crazy-making rules & doctrine of the watchtower! As this is relatively new for me, I'm going a bit slow with it. I'll post info on the right site - Apostafests & GetTogethers. Plse lets keep in touch via that site. Any direction or advice from our experienced friends would be very much appreciated!
A little aside - rebuilding is a healthy thing ... when we first come into the so called "truth", we are compelled to discard all our unbelieving friends and family, all the things that did bring enjoyment to our lives... also had to go. We were stripped of our lives. We did it willingly, for God. Little did we know then, if we tried to leave, they would do it again. So now to be (or having been) stripped of all JWfriends and family, now including grandchildren, ... we do (or will) stand quite naked! I could use a soft blankie wrapped around me, couldn't you?

Are west coast Canadians a bit shy or what! Seems like USA has meet-ups and groups all over. Sounds like a lot of fun! I'm envious. Are there any groups in Victoria or Vancouver that any one knows of? It would be interesting to know the percentage of the Cdn membership as compared to the US exdubs. Maybe Simon could help with that? Thanks a bunch!

StAnn thanks for the advice. Don't get me wrong, -being single, sometimes I love it and sometimes it becomes a little tiresome! Now that I do not work long hours ... I think "is there not some wonderful partner out there somewhere?" Wouldn't it be great to work together as a team ... on a Home, garden, travel etc, ahhh just call me a dreamer!

Hi Snoozy thanks for posting - that experience must have been hard on you too as it was your good friend. Very awkward situation - don't want to sound unfair but it does seem that it is "forgive and forget" away faster for erring bros.

Live music in the Kingdom Halls
by Quillsky ini recall being young and having a lovely solo pianist accompanying the singing in our hall.. in around the late 70's the obligatory (canned, sad) recorded music replaced live musicians.. anyone have any more detailed memories of live music and the subsequent changeover?.

Oh yes, I remember the orchestra at the assemblys (and the free turkey dinner after) and the old piano playing at the local hall. There was more a sense of realness then...down to earth. Young people could aspire to something other than selling magazines ...playing in the 'band'! But oh no, that took too much time away from making sure you had maximum hrs on that time slip! The difference between playing a musical instrument real time and the canned stuff, is just like the difference btwn a.. a.. well actual live pine xmas tree ...and a plastic one. Can I say that now!

Thanks Ziddina - amazing how those studying the bible literature with us, just glossed right over Rutherfords little piccadillo's. When Russell died, that old reprobate saw a money making opportunity for the taking! Discarding and changing 'doctrine', he went on to become one of the biggest apostates around!
Hadit - thanks for your warm welcome. Your name says a lot! The GB plays with people's lives, their "truth" is made up and changed ... on a whim.
Mandette - thanks for deciding to comment now. What an encouragement for young women .. and for the young men. I am so happy you didn't listen too! Congrats on all your achievements and the "wonderful man" ... he's lucky, whoops can I say that? Yes, lucky lucky lucky! I welcome true friends.
Hiding Questioner - oh geez I thought you were going to be critical of those statements, but instead you are ... nice! Thanks for sharing your feelings HQ, to my mind, you are a rarity. With the constant Armageddon destruction "just around the corner" stuff - maybe the GB really think everything is kinda temporary. The time and effort that should be put into a marriage is overlooked in lieu of .... selling magazines for a publishing co! lol

Scully, .... The Beatles, oh scully how perfect! Thank you so much, many will relate I'm sure. Seriously, I was moved to tears ... not only for lonely singles but for the pervasive loneliness throughout society, single or married. As one poster brought out, (Vampire) the loneliness in a marriage can be devastating. I don't know yet how to 'put' utube in a post, but so glad you do!
