  Celebrating birthday: ground for disfellowshipping?

  a friend of mine (inactive) is being threatened with a judicial committee because he took his children to schoolmates' birthdays and because he celebrated his wife's birthday.. do you know if celebrating birthday is sufficient ground for setting a judicial committee?.

  the ks2010 does not mention birthdays specifically, and i feel like it would be quite a stretch to make it fall under the "apostasy" category (subcategory "celebrating false religion holidays" or "idolatry").. what do you think?.

  Does The "Active Bethelite Sixscreens" Thread Help You Recognize The Watchtower Organization Is "Spying" On You?

  let me state that these sensational types of threads are counter-productive, in my humble opinion.

  the whole "spying" thing and the cameras and secret recordings in shower stalls and toilets is nutty!.

  do these threads help you to see how the organization is wrong?.

  1984 WT cover -- Watchtower's Final Failed Prediction?

  the infamous cover of that 1984 watchtower (27 years ago) was perhaps the last prediction / prophecy of the watchtower society.

  will there be any more or have they finally learned their lesson?

  some think they are like a race-track junkie and are addicted to predictions.

  Anyone Know JW's who Donated Inheritances, Estates,$$$ to WT Society ?

  if so - without divulging any names , approximately how much was donated to the wt society ?

  if you are aware of approximate amounts.

  as many know the wt society yearly puts out calls in their publications for witnesses to donate trust funds, wills, inheritances, estates, jewelry, cars and whatever else they have to promote the aleged " kingdom interests " in furthering the " good news " around the world.. personally i feel it's all been a scam to continue exercising control over witnesses by influencing them to financially deprive themselves so the wt society can continue it's operations.

  Rick,

  To be honest, at this point I'm not clear about this Johnny thing. Maybe no one is.

  But what I don't think is fair .... is the punitive put downs and character assassination of you, Rick Ferron.

  I don't claim to be that up to date, but seems to me that you are one of "our own" as it were. ExBethelite, I think, worked with Randy Watters and so on...........

  Of course we are very free now, to say exactly what we think (thank god, we're free at last)!

  In this case, perhaps it would be a wise course for all of us, if we cannot be kind, then at least don't beat our friends to death!

  So he says the elders at Bethel don't know that he's been calling Six Screens and telling tales.Then, at around the 1:15 mark he says he and his family have been threatened.Why? Why would they threaten him about ANYthing if they don't know what he's been doing? Why is he "being followed" if they don't know he's THE "Johnny?"

  Johnny's explanation was that ... 'bethel' doesn't know that he is the caller, but because he has asked to leave, that is what is causing the problem.

  "They won't let him go". He says most "lost boys" are LIFERS. They know too much!

  So, to keep him in, he says that they will cause trouble (dirt) for his father & brother.

  Very convoluted eh?

  Flipper, couldn't resist! Remember the "Special Assembly" talk by John Williams, last year?

  "Brothers remember this, we are living under the kingdom now. Kingdom control will get tighter and tighter as we come close to the end of this system of things. Brothers, we are not directing our lives, the Kingdom is telling us how to live our lives today. In a couple of issues of the kingdom ministry, just recently, you go back and you check these kingdom ministries, and you will find the kingdom is actually telling us how to spend our money. Thats kingdom control, brothers. You see, satan wants us to feel that we are in full control of everything. No brothers, you see Jehovah is directing our lives. Remember that.   After years of trying to get my father to be interested, my mother finally talked him into going to this assembly..... his first time and the last time!! Seems the idiot speaker was very disrespectful of any new ones who were not convinced after 6 mths study in the "truth book". "Can't waste our time brothers"!

  He never ever went a step farther. Good for you Dad...where ever you are.

  Seems lately, here on JWN, an undercurrent of mistrust has been having an adverse impact on some of us here.

  When that happens, we may feel that we're losing our footing somewhat. For our own individual good mental health ... don't buy into this. Be proactive, have some fun. Look back to the strong positive people who have come before us.

  "I Want to Be Around to Pick Up the Pieces" is just one of many, if you know the songs....well then for heavens sake hum along! Geesh, I feel like dancing!
