alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.
if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.

what if this mass letter writing is all a bethel conspiracy to increase declining service hours?
We were commanded instructed to write letters to the Malawi leaders in the 1970's, when those pitiful bros/sis were being beat up & raped!
One big reason this fiasco was perpetrated on these jws was to deflect the awful truth that 1975 was a lie. Watchtower needed a new distraction to keep the mind controlled dubs in.
This letter writing campaign will keep their minds off the Royal Commission and child abuse in general.
They may have other new light that they want to .....just slip in also!

my spouse and i were talking about something that was written last year (thinking about spring time maybe) that was in a letter read to the elders only talking about warwick and it mentioned - or hinted at maybe - that the righteous resurrected of old would have rooms made there (ya know, like carrying on the whole beth sarim idea again).
at first i thought this info was in a watchtower, but couldn't find it and that's when honey thought it was in a letter instead and might not have been public info.
does this ring a bell for anyone?

i would not recognise what goes on in a kh now and i was in since 60s when we had firm beliefs, now being eroded little by little.
The crap that wt spews out now is so ridiculous that for a 'dub brain' all it does is cause more frantic denial.
Like a child believes if they cover their eyes ... no one sees them!
So too, these poor hamstrung souls blindly trudge on not daring to think.
Not caring what 'truth' is spoken today.... they forget quickly yesterdays GB lies.
They don't care ....look at all their friends. 8 million can't be wrong ...can they!

my mother was one of the newly'anointed' we have all left.
i have been lurking since october.i was really too terrified someone would find out who i was and what would happen.well we are out now so here is a part of my story.
Coming to the site kind of late...sorry I missed your wonderful news that you all escaped. The disgusting works of the watchtower is maddening. Sorry for all this bad stuff and good for you, protecting our children is what a good person does...Christian or otherwise!

it's no secret that both remaining a jw or leaving the wts can take a toll on mental health.
some will suffer from depression and ultimately some will have thoughts of suicide and a few will succumb to those.. but i don't recall ever seeing any hard stats or studies on it though.
i'm sure we all know of some people who have committed suicide but i don't know if, because you may have loose association with a much larger pool of people through the religion, that this only seems higher or maybe not be actually higher than the general population.. what i mean is, you go to a kh here there maybe 100-150 people, you attend circuit and district conventions with many tens of thousands - if any one person commits suicide then you likely hear about it and it becomes part of the anecdotal 'evidence' that is then put forward as a fact that there is a higher rate ... but is there?.
We do know that Watchtower has a vey large broom that can whisk away even the nastiest of events.
It is hard to nail down statistics about suicide but ... all I know is that in my first 22 years of life I had never even heard of suicide.
After joining the WT, within 3 months a sweet young man who I knew personally, killed himself. He was being groomed to be more active in the congregation. Don't think they had a name for that then.
As the years rolled on there were more who buckled under the weight of the pressure, guilt and obligation of the watchtower cult.
So just in my former 'circles' of jw acquaintances, I still hear of it.
