Very sad, especially if she was never happy.

last wednesday my elder brother called me to let me know mom had died.
she was 97 years old and was in a nursing home for the last 7 years.
her mind had left her many years ago to the point she didn't recognize any of us.
Very sad, especially if she was never happy.

today, it will be 90 degrees and humid!
this morning i’ll be playing tennis again.
while most people have been holed up in their houses, i have regularly played the sport outside.
I had to get some blood work a few weeks ago and was asked to wait in a social distancing holding pen. Masks were required.
I sat across from the only person without one. He was a pretty big guy with a massive beer gut. He was obviously proud to be maskless unlike the rest of us sheep. When I sat down he stared at me, I stared back. I'll play the stupid stare down game.
Then... I started coughing. Whatever bug I had recently messed up my right lung and once I start coughing, I can't stop, and it's a nasty dry rattle with an involuntary wheeze after the cough that can't be faked.
Tough guy broke eye contact. Then, the nurse said, "Are you sure you don't want a mask Mr. Krupke?" That seemed to indicate that he'd already turned her down once! He didn't say a word, he took the mask and walked to the other side of the room.
I love you tough, nonsheeple. You're good for a laugh!
there seem to many seemingly political topics started in this section.
it's usually something controversial and not related to this subject area.
it would be nice to have this area reserved for it's appropriate subject.
The posting guidelines ask that you put posts in the appropriate section. But...

But, I suppose if you want to wear a mask in your closed up car, it's your right. You're not endangering anyone by wearing the mask...

I see people alone in their cars, with their windows up, wearing a mask. That seems ridiculous.
When my wife and I go walking in our neighborhood for exercise, we don't wear a mask.
On the other hand, if I'm in close proximity with people in public, I wear a mask.
Some people clearly have an attitude towards people who are wearing a mask. Those people are assholes.
i did this in my facebook group for my podcast and it was fun.. so what's the craziest thing you ever saw?.
for me it was watching a brother have a heart attack during the meeting in the auditorium.
i was a kid and noticed him shaking and acting strange.
Dubstepped, an old sister keeled over during the school. I was the school overseer and was on stage at the time. I made sure she was being taken care of and 911 had been called. I stopped the meeting until the paramedics had taken her away. Afterwards, the presiding overseer (also, a substitute c.o.) Bill, got in my face and told me I should not have stopped the meeting.
I stared at him and shook my head and said, "Wow, I can't imagine what a bad witness it would have been if those paramedics had seen us heartlessly pretending that nothing had happened. I will do exactly the same thing if it happens again. If you don't like that you can remove me."
He didn't know what to say...
some towns in massachusetts are fining people 1000 dollars for not wearing a mask 😷 outdoors.
starting wednesday, the governor mandates everyone from 2 years of age up, must wear a mask or get a 300 dollar fine!.
of course some governors are recommending that you rat out anyone that doesn’t follow their orders.. i don’t like it!👎🏿.
Minimus, I'm glad you don't take yourself too seriously and have a sense of humor. Glad I gave you a chuckle too.

Rivergang, my South Korea comment was sarcasm. While I was sick a friend in London asked me if I was going to be tested and I said, "Where the hell do you think I live? South Korea?"

Jesus fucking christ.
Today I went to pick up groceries at a local grocery chain. I wish I'd been doing this for a long time. You pick what you want on the internet, they get the shit ready and you pick it up. Easy.
Anyway, while I was waiting for the delivery, some pudgy old white dude was across the way, chain smoking ciggies, and glaring at me, obviously because I was wearing a mask. Maybe it was you Minimus?
Sooo, I'm wearing a mask because I recently had all the symptoms of the covid-19 virus but I can't be tested because I don't live in a shithole like South Korea. I'm wearing this mask to protect assholes like him, a cigarette smoking, overweight, old, douchebag.
At this point, where I live, the cops are stretched so thin that unless you kill someone, you pretty much just get a citation and go home.
Accordingly, if you are a patriotic old man, like Minimus, and decide to exercise your right to not wear a mask in public, cool. If you cough and or sneeze near me, I will consider that assault and reckless endangerment. I will exercise my patriotic right to defend and protect myself and my family . Hell, second amendment included(nice to be in a stand your ground state btw) . While you're in the ER being exposed to covid-19, I'll be home for dinner. Have a nice day!
