Thanks, I know Julian and John, but I'd never heard of Los Indios Tabajaras.
Funny thing, I play classical guitar, but I don't listen to it a lot. I'd been playing classical since grade school and had become mainly self taught because I couldn't find any teachers that were able to teach at the level I needed.
My wife and I walked away from JW world over ten years ago. Not long after we left, the college where my wife works hired a new music department director/professor. It just so happened that he was a very good classical guitar teacher (he was nearing retirement and they wanted to retire in our coastal town).
My wife said, "I hear he's really good, you should take lessons". I said, "Maybe next year, I'm just so stressed with all our JW crap".
Luckily, when one of us has been down during our leaving JW, the other one has been up. She told me I needed the distraction. I listened, and holy shite, he was good (much higher level than our little town would normally have). In short, I ended up playing complex pieces I'd always wanted to play and performing in public for $.
The point is, if you are leaving JW and stressed and an opportunity that is on one hand maybe stressful but distracts you from the jw stress, it might be good to take it. I'm so glad my wife pushed me...
