Welcome back _Morpheus, Morph, Justaguynamedmorph, Justaguy! (and whatever other other names).
I admire your tenacity!
BTW, I don't think "Japs" is very PC, "Nips" is more accurate...

Thanks, I know Julian and John, but I'd never heard of Los Indios Tabajaras.
Funny thing, I play classical guitar, but I don't listen to it a lot. I'd been playing classical since grade school and had become mainly self taught because I couldn't find any teachers that were able to teach at the level I needed.
My wife and I walked away from JW world over ten years ago. Not long after we left, the college where my wife works hired a new music department director/professor. It just so happened that he was a very good classical guitar teacher (he was nearing retirement and they wanted to retire in our coastal town).
My wife said, "I hear he's really good, you should take lessons". I said, "Maybe next year, I'm just so stressed with all our JW crap".
Luckily, when one of us has been down during our leaving JW, the other one has been up. She told me I needed the distraction. I listened, and holy shite, he was good (much higher level than our little town would normally have). In short, I ended up playing complex pieces I'd always wanted to play and performing in public for $.
The point is, if you are leaving JW and stressed and an opportunity that is on one hand maybe stressful but distracts you from the jw stress, it might be good to take it. I'm so glad my wife pushed me...

Since You Have Left The Religion Are You Happier?
by minimus ini realize that some activist exjws really don’t seem to be happy in life.
they finally got away from the organization and yet seem still negatively connected to it.
some exjws are always upset because of what the “truth “ did to their lives, which is understandable.

Which English Translations of the Bible are you Favorites, and Why?
by Disillusioned JW inwhich english translations of the bible are you favorites, and why?
my favorites include the (english) revised version bible (of 1881-1885) and its apocrypha (of 1898), the american revised version bible (of 1898, it close to the american standard version), the american standard version bible (of 1901), the new american standard bible - updated edition, the new revised standard version bible with the apocrypha, the complete bible: an american translation (it includes the apocrypha), and the twentieth century new testament.
i also use others beside those.. they are my favorites because i consider them to be highly accurate, and also they are either very literal (but not so literal as to be hard to understand) or they use functional equivalence.

On March 15, 2020, I came down with covid like symptoms. Whatever it was, it affected my lungs and I coughed for about 12 months. Otherwise, I was fine.
This prompted my wife's employer to make her work from home full time. She'd wanted to do this for a long time.
With my wife working at home and not going out to eat and drink with friends, our eating became a lot more healthy.
We both lost a bit of weight.
I did an experiment, I started cooking with more butter. I made classic French dishes and other similar cooking, with full cream sauce. We ate more red meat too. I started out with really good cholesterol levels. After a year of butter and cream etc., my HDL/LDL ratio was abnormal... at the good end 1.34!
Other than a little generalized stress because of the unknowns of what the economy etc. would do, we enjoyed being able to spend more time together. So, mental health was good.
Financial health was good too.

What Were You or Someone You Knew Counseled For That Was Ridiculous?
by minimus inback in the day, tons of witnesses were brought in the “back room “ to be counseled by elders because of their dress and grooming.
some elders frowned on mustaches or hair that went past a certain point on a male.
women were regularly harassed because their skirt was too long or too short or had a slit on the side.

The congregation I was in when I was newly married liked making rules that were above and beyond what even the Governing Body required.
The elder body (mainly the Presiding Overseer) had decreed that any time a ministerial servant or elder was on stage, they had to wear a suit, not a sport coat (the Org only required this of the Sunday speaker). I didn't comply, so the P.O. and one of his henchmen paid me a visit.
They reminded me of their new rule.
I told them,
1. I've gained some weight, as many people do, since getting married. I only have one suit that fits me. I'm on stage a lot because I'm one of the few who is willing to volunteer for talks or reading the watchtower at the last minute. You're not expecting me to wear the same suit to every meeting are you?
2. Since I'm newly married our budget is tight at the moment and I can't afford a new suit. I'm not trying to obstruct your rule, in fact, if you guys would like to buy me a new suit I'll gladly wear it.
They backed way down and never brought the subject up with me again.
