I doubt that "pointed mocking" will accomplish anything, I don't see any evidence of humor coming from Mr. K.
However, I hope that once or twice I was able to put a smile on someone's face.
hello my friends,.
here are some encouraging scriptures for the day:.
revelation 21:2 i also saw the holy city, new jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from god and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.. hebrews 11:10 for he (abraham) was awaiting the city having real foundations, whose designer and builder is god.. revelation 21:24 and the nations will walk by means of its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.. revelation 22:1 and he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of god and of the lamb 2 down the middle of its main street (of the holy city).

Peacefulpete, nice observation.
In general I try to be respectful of people's beliefs. Since I've left jwland I've had nice conversations with believers, atheists, even clergy. My wife's cousins are extremely "spiritual" and they are some of the most kind, caring people. I love spending time with them.
In Kosonen's case though, his condescension, the Watchtower speak with leading questions have been irresistible for me.
I do feel sorry for his family.

PioneerSchmioneer, that was excellent!!!
recent news about beards is getting lots of attention.
it made me wonder if any guys will return to the church under the impression that 'so much has changed'.
back when, i knew a couple guys who were outspoken about beards, seeing it as an issue, and was never terribly moved by their viewpoint.
First of all, the quality of our "worldly" friendships is so much better than what we had in JW land, so, we wouldn't return for that.
My JW in-laws are judgemental, unkind hypocrites, and would be regardless of what form of religion they were a part of. So, we wouldn't return for them.
There's actually one area where I could see a financial benefit, however I can't imagine returning to Watctowerism just for a buck.

i'm relatively new here, and i would like to see threads that have new posts or replies in them bumped up to the top of the forum.
because recently, someone asked me a question in a thread, but i answered their question with a question.
and after being away from the forum for about a week, i haven't looked at that thread for their answer because i forgot what thread it was in.
Hi. Iwant2Know/Easyprompt, I've bumped the thread to the top numerous times. But then, I think you know that.

"At its essence, 'Groundhog Day' is an existential journey of an unhappy, judgmental, slightly narcissistic, misogynistic, dissatisfied, aspirational, entitled, privileged male who has to learn to be the opposite of all those things to find happiness - to learn that learning is important and that you don't get to control everything."

"The story of Eve and the serpent, and of Noah and his ark, drops to a level with the Arabian Tales, without the merit of being entertaining, and the account of men living to eight and nine hundred years becomes as fabulous as the immortality of the giants of the Mythology."

i would like to know if there are any ex's or formers who still appreciate good manners and respectfulness?
but i hope this question isn't offensive to this forum.
