  Hi Kosonen,

  I don't think I've been the only one disturbed by your copying JW style interpretation of the scriptures. Pioneershmioneer, Leathercrop and others have worded things much better than me about this (actually, I guess I've never said much directly to you. I've just quoted a lot of this and that, a bit for laughs and a bit to try to make you think about what and how you are saying things) . This site is filled with people who are trying to get away from the Governing Body, when you seem to be trying to copy the GB, well, I think many are put off by this. I'm pretty sure that you mean well by what you are doing, but the delivery hasn't been very palatable for a number of reasons (1 Corinthinans 9:19-23). I was the Theocratic Ministry School overseer for many years, lol, think about your audience!!!

  Yes, I work in construction in a rural area. I have my own business, and I can do all fazes of construction from the foundation to the roof. I don't do carpet and vinyl. I avoid roofing these days for various reasons ;) . Leaving JW world affected my ability to have a crew, so that has affected the size of my jobs. I have lots of stories of how often local JW break the labor laws etc. in the US. I'm currently working on interior unpainted wood trim around windows and doors. Also, for the last few years I've been consulting with people who want to do their own work but need to have a little bit of direction. At the moment, I'm helping a local professor build stairs and outside decks in to her new home. She's doing a great job!

  What kind of jobs do you do Kosonen? What is your favorite?

  I doubt that "pointed mocking" will accomplish anything, I don't see any evidence of humor coming from Mr. K.

  Peacefulpete, nice observation.

  In general I try to be respectful of people's beliefs. Since I've left jwland I've had nice conversations with believers, atheists, even clergy. My wife's cousins are extremely "spiritual" and they are some of the most kind, caring people. I love spending time with them.

  In Kosonen's case though, his condescension, the Watchtower speak with leading questions have been irresistible for me.

  I do feel sorry for his family.

  What If?

  recent news about beards is getting lots of attention.

  it made me wonder if any guys will return to the church under the impression that 'so much has changed'.

  back when, i knew a couple guys who were outspoken about beards, seeing it as an issue, and was never terribly moved by their viewpoint.

  First of all, the quality of our "worldly" friendships is so much better than what we had in JW land, so, we wouldn't return for that.

  My JW in-laws are judgemental, unkind hypocrites, and would be regardless of what form of religion they were a part of. So, we wouldn't return for them.

  There's actually one area where I could see a financial benefit, however I can't imagine returning to Watctowerism just for a buck.
