Elders dragged me in the back to discuss me not pioneering anymore and I went for it and told them the honest truth. It felt so good to get that all off of my chest.

Conspiracy theory
by sabastious ini am a writer by nature so my imagination runs wild sometimes.
i always tend to fabricate scanarios that have a measure of feasibility.. check this one out:.
according to the new world order conspiracy theory the ideal population for the earth is only 500,000. some think that there have been groups of people throughout history that have attempted to or have furthered an agenda to "depopulate" the earth.. this got me to thinking, who would these 500,000 "new world starter set" people be?

by twinkle toes ini was thinking about the fact that the society is changing all the lingo that is associated with the new world order, new system and the like.
what i was wondering is if it is important to get away from this phrasing, what are they going to do with the new world translation?
do you think they will start publishing it under a new name?

by clarity inany body care to add their own ideas?
imagine if god gave the gb the authority to rule the whole earth and everyone in it, right now, the same way they govern jw's, what the heck would that be like?.
after the temporary euphoria wore off (should last a good two minutes or so), the gb (or whatever they're calling themselves now) would have much to do.

Where did you sit in the KH?
by Evidently Apostate inthe official wt understanding on where to park your butt during the meeting is to move around from meeting to meeting in order to get in more association or whatever but i never really saw things that way.
the kh seating arraingment at my hall went as follows;.
if you sat in the front you were really late or wanted to seem really spiritual.. the elders and pioneers always liked the same seats every meeting.. shiftless ones and those who wanted sympathy for thier back ailments would stand in the back during the talks.. ever had a sister in your hall bring in their own chair and footstool?.

Near the back so I could get up few times & go to the toilet. I would use my phone to go online or play a game. Good old Bejeweled, it kept me sane. The meetings were so bloody boring!!! Why did I wait 30 years to get out?

I hated the meetings so much, I would miss so many.
My favourite meeting was my last one (didn't know it was my last while at that meeting), I knew it was all BS at this stage and knew I would not be doing this for much longer. I decided to fade for a few months.
When it was time to go to the next meeting I thought: "WHY bother going/fading?" I stopped cold turkey and life improved!!!
Yes I agree 'meetings' do sound cult like because they are.

by Cold Steel init seems that many people on this board get a certain amount of glee calling the jehovah's witness faith a "cult.
" especially former jehovah's witnesses.
and though it's true in a number of senses, we must be conscious of the fact that the early christians were considered by nearly everyone in roman and jewish society as a cult.

How about that ALL JWs carry a suicide card in their wallet/purse!!! (no blood card)
That alone screams out CULT!!!
All because their leaders (GB) in NY tell them to let yourself or your children die if you/they ever need a life saving blood transfusion. So let's follow what a bunch of old men tell us, even if it means killing ourselves and our loved ones... but it's all ok, those men promise us an edenic utopia where these dead will rise again and we all will live happily ever after.
