Nov.15th WT - Quotes Dissing - Internet, Higher Education, Earning a Living
by flipper inas most of us here are aware the wt society is using the " kool-aid " , or witness only version as i call it - to indoctrinate and intimidate jw members through fear and guilt to avoid anything that takes their devotion and attention away from allegiance to the wt society's ambitions.
so the wt society is amping up it's control methods once again in various articles in this issue as well.. first off - notice this quote from page 14 , paragraph 16 , regarding how " dangerous " allegedly the internet is.
it states, " these desires ( of the world ) involve such things as promiscuity, prominence , and possessions.

I think the views of education can really vary depending on the socioeconomic area and culture of the city the cong is in. Many people I grew up with went to college. But a dorm type of education, totally unheard of!

Do you think Witnesses would drink the "Cool-Aid" if told to do so...like Jonestown?
by Witness 007 injonestown 1970's, jim jones brainwashed his 900 member cult into committing mass suicide by drinking cyanide cool-aid.
only three escaped.
{the smart ones} one man hid under a building....another escaped into the jungle while armed guards dragged another member to get injected by force.

I think they already are in many ways.
Although most I know would probably spike it with lots of whiskey. (The fave drink among JWs in my past).

So why
by bushido8000 init has become very apparent to me very quickly that this forum is dominated by ex-jws.
i have many questions and topics to present but i first want to know who i am presenting these questions and topics to so i have 2 questions that i would like as many of yall to answer as possible.. .
question 1: did you leave the organization out of the blue or were you first disfellowshipped?.

I was a born in. Read a book about fundamental Mormonism, and a woman who escaped. It reminded me of JW's way too much. Slowly I realized the religion was not the truth. I kinda quit cold turkey. Never DF or DA. Although the elders have contacted me a few times to see if they could get me to say something that they could use to make an announcement. My JW family shuns me. My non JW family loves me. I am so much happier now. Plus I needed to leave to give my kids a shot at a normal life, aka college, waiting to get married, and not having to rely on Brooklyn to get instructions how to think and act.

I would not go. You can have a good time elsewhere. That is not the social scene to be in. Go shopping! :)

Today's Watchtower Lesson Really Bothered Me...
by dontplaceliterature ini was a hair away from telling my wife i never wanted to go to the kingdom hall again after today's watchtower.
the conductor mentioned something along the lines of..."if you think having to shun your disfellowshipped children is bad...you should read up on the israelites.
when one of their children was disobedient to the law, they had to take the before the judges so that they could be stoned to death...and guess who's job it was throw the first stone?".

Hole just got a bit more deeper to further smugify the shunners. I hope they felt extra holy leaving.
I make sure when non JWs ask me about my life or past that I explain how my family shun me and how they believe that anyone not a JW will die at armageddon. Spread the word!

Now how come the JW media website has not mentioned this case at all? In fact, Australia is not even on the list of news countries. Weird, it's almost like they don't want people to know about it. Hmmm..........
