  Is the Centenary Campaign in August 2014 really for the public?

  i was thinking about what i read in a recent kingdom ministry about the historical campaign the jws will engage in this august.. this is not really for the public.. it is to keep the jw's busy, not thinking about why 100 years has gone by with no end in sight, but to buoy up flagging enthusiasm.. they trying to make jws maintain a constant state of tension and expectation..

  August is also the month many countries see new publisher peaks, including the US.

  This tract campagn in August seems to be tied to that-encourage all to share so an all time peak will be recorded to end the SY.

  Why do I bother to wake up in the morning?

  i'm not suicidal just fed up.. i did think of suicide (briefly), but as there is no painless way and it's not something i would willingly do just in case things would have been better the day after.

  i do have a slight grain of hope.. money problems.....problems at home (that's another matter with a son up court for something he is adamant he didn't do.

  first offence but the pigs police and the cps have got charges made.

  Sorry you are in such a dark place. I am too, and it is getting darker as time goes on. I keep hoping for good news that never comes.

  Literature Cost

  hello folks:.

  just curious....back when they institutued the voluntary donation arrangement for the literature rather than specifying a cost....was the reason related to avoid paying taxes....i heared this somewhere, but checking to see if there's real proof or some letter from the borg.. thanks.

  Too, they said it was a blessing from Jehovah-a simplification which was already successful in other countries.

  But it did make it possible for me to obtain literature I wanted and needed- no longer being charged a set amount for it.

  Have You Been Invited To The Memorial?

  one of my best friend's, who is an ex elder had two elders visit him at his home yesterday to invite him to the memorial.

  he was cordial to them because they were'nt over the top.. so far, i have had no invites, thank god..

  I was not invited either. I have not been invited to the memorial in the nearly 9 years since I last attended a meeting.

  My jw brother never invites me, nobody from the congregation does and the sister who used to bring me the magazines does not either.

  In fact, that sister has not been by since January and did not bring me the yb or wt library like she used to. Perhaps her eyes have opened and she no longer goes out in FS?

  Next the witnesses will wait till people call on their homes to witness to them instead of vice versa!

  But seriously- it is supposed to be a life saving message. Look at how nonchalantly they and the organization go about it.

  And the average person still has no idea what the life saving message is or what the good news of the kingdom is, who Jehovah is or what witnesses really believe.

  Nauseating JW.org section for small children - CUTOUTS? Really?

  i am not hot linking to jw borg, but they have a whole section for obviously very small children (become j's friend, with a whole array of caleb-related stuff).

  i have actually never visited the site, today was the first time, because i wanted to check a technical information about their websites architecture and came across this sh*t!.

  the way they are targeting small kids is nauseating me (i have a 5 year old, still in with her mother).

  AnneB- I agree-this is not the same religion as when I began studying with the witnesses in 1976.

  BluPill2- you are right- the jw organization now is more freakish, cultish , evil & insidious-and money grubbing.

  The article on worldwide printing they put up today at jw.org says they will never beg nor petition men for money. Really? What's with all the direction to give credit card donations and the web sites set up to accept and encourage credit card donations in addition to what witnesses usually put in the donation boxes?

  This is a much different religion then it was when I was a witness.

  What do you think attracts new ones to the JW organization now?

  why are they joining?

  sign up deadline is the 31st, in a couple of days.

  if you have problems with the website and youve been there before, try cleaning out your cookies and cache, then restart your computer.

  FlyingHighNow- thank you for your encouragement. I was very disappointed I could not complete the process through healthcare.gov yesterday and make the deadline.

  I will try for medicare again.

  I do not own my home. It belongs to my brother and sister. They will be selling the house soon, in a few months. My brother and his wife will be getting their own place. As of now I have no idea where I will go. I hope something will work out and my best friend will let me move in with him, wherever he ends up. (He will be splitting from his wife.)

  Witnesses always said how they loved me and would die for me- I'd always have their help.

  I always helped any of my friends in any way I could but my dear Mom told me they would not be there for me when I need help. And she was so right. I wish I could tell her that but she died nearly 14 years ago while I was still in the cult :(

  The wts gives away their literature at no charge because they HAVE to. They will be taxed if they go back to using suggested contribution prices.

  Witnesses have no GENUINE love-it is all conditional. Miss meetings and these wonderful, loving true Christians pretend you don't even exist.
