i seriously don't get it.. some people truly hate`jews.. and it's not just jews.... gays, christians, blacks, mexicans, etc.

are on the list.. intolerance is a terrible thing..

there were anti-semites in at least 2 of the congregations I was in too and some were elders.

One of the things that led me to stop attending meetings was one of the elders & his wife who gave me rides to meetings. I could not stand listening to their hateful, ignorant remarks anymore and it did not matter to them that they were insulting me and my family.

One elder even told me that the Jews don't exist, that the Israelites were all killed thousands of years ago and left no desendents. I told him thanks for letting me know I and my family don't exist! So much prejudice and ignorance!

thanks for your post.

I did not face the same degree of anti-semitism in school my younger brother & sister did, and I felt like you. There are bigots of all kinds and not all gentiles are anti-semitic. I was not successful in convincing my sister of this however.

This post has caused me to see more anti-semitism than I had been aware of, but I'd like to think I was right.

I would not take anything you post as having any merit.

Ignorance must be the main reason why there is so much anti-semitism.

What you wrote about world history and Jews controling the world and all wealth is both ignorant and offensive.

please post whether you found jwn during an internet search or if someone told you about it.. i myself was directed here by a df'd family member once i shared my doubts with that person..

Reality is plain to see: if you just open your eyes

i made a post a few days ago about stagnant jw growth at international conventions.

i also enjoyed reading analysis of the statistics from jwfacts.

what the watchtower claims and what the reality is, are two different things.

It made sense, all the other religions are wrong. The witnesses are preaching the good news of the kingdom and their literature is available everywhere, ... a number of factors that impressed me.

I trusted them too, never checked references, wanted it to be true.

I had friends in the congregation, loved recieving the new magazines and books....

but as the years went on with no armageddon in sight, friends moving away, meetings becoming more and more boring, seeing wrongdoing on the part of elders, etc , it finally started to have an effect and my eyes started to open a bit more and I started doubting more, I saw no evidence of Jehovah's spirit in the congregation.

I gave up going BEFORE really finding out the tatt. And like you kneehighmiah, I think back and wonder why I could not see what was so obvious to others who were not jws.

As time goes on the increases in Publishers become smaller. Yet the wt says Jehovah will speed it up as we get closer to the end.

We must not be close to the end based on the increases! LOl !

A lot of people seem to have gone missing over ten years.

But yes, you MUST be an active pubnlisher each month for at least 6 months before you can be baptized.

The report in the yearbook gives:

The TOTAL number of publishers who reported FS that SY whether baptized or not.

Then, the break down, of the TOTAL number the number who:

got baptized that SY

were serving as reg pioneers (average month)

were serving as aux pioneers (average month)

All of these are already INCLUDED in the total pub figure (average & Peak pubs)

Thats why you can't ADD the number baptized to the publisher figure. The number reported as publishers is already including all who got baptized that SY and who were pioneering that SY.

The breakdown just shows OF the pub figure how many just got baptized during that SY. They were ALREADY counted as publishers before their baptism!
