Missing my Mom

she and my dad brought us to the u.s. from ireland in hopes of giving the 4 of us kids a better life with more opportunities.. mom went to school in her village where her mother (my grandmother) was the teacher and the bible was part of the curriculum.

they even used the name jehovah.

her father was a plymouth brethern (think amish or quaker) who was shunned for the rest of his life for marrying my grandmother who wasn't "in the lord"...she belonged to church of ireland.. when the witnesses came to the door after we arrived in the u.s, mom was a shoe-in candidate for their recruitment.

My dear Mom who I miss so much died 14 years ago so this is the 14th Mother's day without her and the cult would not let me do anything special for Mom on Mothers day of course. Why did I listen to those hateful, self righteous idiots?

It is a difficult time as you say. I understand. My Mom died April 28, 2000 and my Dad Jan. 10,2006.

And I agree, it is a shame no one will take responsibility for ruining our lives with their false teachings.

the watchtower society is now wanting us to make "fixed donations".

this means they will be spaying and neutering the jehovah's witness population which has sadly become very overrun.

let's help them fix all those jw so they don't reproduce anymore cult spawn.

my jw brother & sister in law did not have children- they decided to wait because armageddon is so close. Now both are too old, no armageddon and no chance to have children thanks to obeying the slave!

In years past they sent "generic" magazines to lands where the literature/work was banned. These magazines have no title, they do not say Watchtower or Awake and some make no mention of who publishes them, Watchtower, Jehovah's witnesses, etc so you can not see who published them. (Of course we know!)

They have the same articles each issue as the regular ones, but no identifying title thus making them hard to ban as they have no name!

I wonder if that will be the case with the magazines there.

And yes, this persecution from "Satan" is further proof of the world being against them and them being Jehovah"s organization-of course they will say that!

the bible is very clear when the angel tells mary that holy spirit will overshadow her and she will become pregnant.

the angel does not say the father will overshadow her but the holy spirit will and if the holy spirit is a person that would make him the father of jesus.

MysticMage- I would be insulted if I was going to meetings and they are telling me to pledge money to the gb on a monthly basis. I am unemployed, ill and may be homeless soon.

The society should be sending money to help the poor publishers, not take money from them.

I stopped donating to them long ago and would not even give them a penny either.

I wish people's eyes would open up and they'd see this cult scam.

Most will pay, there will be no rebellion.

The question is: what will they do when pledges keep falling short each month? publisdhers leave? Will the CO suggest elders make up for it by giving more themselves?

Some have got to open their eyes and see what is really happening. It is about the money! Jehovah does not support them- they are asking for money!

And again, what are they doing with all the money that comes in? The gb will not let the public or witnesses ever really know.

jonza- I believe Jehovah is the one and only Almighty God, he has no equals.

In the Hebrew Scriptures Moses was refered to as god as was Paul in the Christian Scriptures. This does not make them Jehovah, does it?

Christians apply parts of the Hebrew scriptures to Jesus wheras the Hebrew scriptures never mention Jesus.

Almighty God is above a mighty god yes, mighty is not Almighty!

As Designs brought out, Judaism does not assign parts of the Hebrew scriptures to Jesus. Christians do.

Chalam, yes I am familiar with that scripture-remember, witnesses use it! Jesus did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, Jesus did not think he was equal to God nor did he think it proper for him to try to be equal with God. And this does not prove the trinity!

As cofty brings out-the trinity doctrine is not taught in the Bible, Jesus' Jewish followers did not believe in a trinity, it was taken from pagan religions in the third century to try to unite Constantine's subjects and Constantine was a pagan.

Worship of the trinity is not monotheism. This is why "Christianity" is not acceptible to people who believe in Judaism. The trinity is a pagan doctrine.
