what's all the fuss about? the DVD mentions freemasons and then thanks the freemason community in the closing credits... whatever conclusion you draw is up to you... I don't think I've implied or mentioned anything about them taking over the world or executing any other "secret agenda"... they're just a group of ignorant "programmed" people who unkowingly worship the Devil... beyond that, I don't think there's anything to worry about... chill...

Faith In Action DVD... A tribute to Freemasons
by Alfred invery few people actually know this but the watchtower dvd faith in action is actually a tribute to freemasonry.
this dvd presents illustrations of several famous freemasons such as john coustos (a portuguese grand master from lisbon circa 1740).
the dvd actually presents two illustrations of coustos being tortured by the clergy while the anonymous narrator denounces historic abuse from the clergy.

Aussie... which picture are you referring to? There are quite a few throughout the DVD... But if you're referring to the 2 illustrations of Grand Master Coustos being tortured, these appear to have been taken from a book called "The Freemason" written by Eugen Lennhoff in 1932... also they may have been supplied by Ken Walsh (who is thanked at the end of the DVD)...

Watchtower: Telling truth is only an entitlement, not a requirement.
by FatFreek 2005 inwhile i didn't listen to the recent audio interview (see this thread), a certain watchtower official denied that disfellowshipped people are shunned by their relatives.
i was understandably irked at that bald-faced lie since for the last 33 years i've been shunned by two of my children.
then i thought -- hey, that official simply reverted to his watchtower teaching.. that jwn thread may not show up.

Palimpsest... I wasn't really expecting any "oohs" or "aahs" when I posted this... I was just wondering if anyone happened to stumble across the same things if/when they viewed this DVD... Also, I have no interest in reading about Freemason conspiracy theories or any other secret organization nor do I watch any such programming on TV.
My only interest in posting this was to present the facts as objectively as possible... If you verify the content, you'll notice that I've done just that (without adding any element of fear or intrigue)...
That being said, everyone is free to draw their own conclusion based on these and other facts.... cheers!

The Gloves Are Off - Its Official Round 1 has just taken place .. !!!!
by sleepingbeauty ini woke up today a right grumpy basket case.... not a good day for the jehovah's witness to call on me to do there usual shepherding call, bringing me the usual mags of shite!
i stood there on the doorstep in my pj's, care free and all fired up.
i was asked how i was doing & then informed that they had my latest mags.

Sleeping beauty… Good for you… especially if you have little or no family ties in the borg. However, if it’s not too late, I would still stop short of disassociating myself… why make things easy for them? After all, they’re always looking for these kinds of opportunities to wield their power and show the brethren that Jesus has left them in charge. Also, I think some elders actually get some kind of sick pleasure whenever they get on the platform at the end of the service meeting to say "John Smith is no longer a JW"... In their minds, they believe they've delivered a blow to Satan's organization by removing more weed from the congo... I would keep them guessing... but that's just me...

Very few people actually know this but the Watchtower DVD “Faith In Action” is actually a tribute to freemasonry. This DVD presents illustrations of several famous freemasons such as John Coustos (a Portuguese Grand Master from Lisbon circa 1740). The DVD actually presents two illustrations of Coustos being tortured by “the clergy” while the anonymous narrator denounces historic abuse from the clergy. The DVD even mentions John Calvin, the famous freemason who came up with the phrase “Great Architect of the Universe” used only by freemasons and Jehovah Witnesses. Other freemasons are also mentioned and there are also masonic symbols throughout the DVD. There’s even a picture of some brethren standing in front of masonic columns in what appears to be a park.
Also, did anyone notice the expression on GB member David Splane's face when he said: “we only see light when it’s God’s time to see light” ??? very spooky… but the "progessive light" teaching is very typical in freemasonry.
And if this weren’t enough, at the end of the DVD, the Watchtower actually extends its thanks to the freemason community in the closing credits… for example:
• Lizzie Palmer Fund: Charitable organization founded by Elizabeth "Lizzie" Palmer, the wife of Thomas W Palmer (1830-1913) a very influential freemason in Detroit.
• Bibliotheque nationale de France: The director of this public French library is Bruno Racine, a highly decorated freemason.
• The English Bible and its History: written by James Baikie, a freemason who held the title of “Outer Guard”. He also wrote "Peeps at Many Lands: Ancient Egypt".
• The History of Protestantism: written by James A Wylie, a freemason who wrote several Works condemning the Catholic church for its persecution of protestants. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #9 in Lebanon, NY.
• Ken Welsh: born in Brooklyn, he received the "Dewitt Clinton Masonic Award" for his service in the community.
I know this DVD has been discussed already but just I thought I’d mention its masonic content since I don’t think anyone has touched on this as of yet… Anyone else notice this?

Simple explanation why "Anointed" # going up (from the CO)
by InterestedOne ini asked the co, if the heavenly calling was closed in 1935, why is the number of anointed going up?
he simply said that the society no longer says when the heavenly calling was closed.
have they discarded the 1935 teaching?

1935 was abandoned in 2007
Why? Simple explanation... 6 members of the GB who were born before 1935 died between 2001 & 2007... last year the last 2 members of the GB born before 1935 also died... so there are currently no GB members born before 1935...
They should have abandoned 1935 long before 2007... it's not like they didn't know that Rutherfraud pulled this ridiculous teaching out of his pooper in a desperate attempt to keep people in...

Elder wants to do "other activities" with me
by InterestedOne ini'm fully aware that this is a cult, and i was waiting for the social elements to kick in.
so far, i have just been doing the "bible study," discussing doctrine, etc.
however, recently one of the elders said he wants to get together with me to do other activities.

InterestedOne... He probably wants to assess your "spirituality" to see if you're ready to be a "publisher"... If the Circuit Overseer is visiting your congo soon, then this elder defintinely wants you to be a publisher (regardless of your spirutuality)... better publisher numbers means more glory for him.

JW's turned up to see if I celebrated xmas
by MMXIV inhad a surprise visit from some jw relatives over xmas.
they had never visited before, had never been invited, were travelling out of their way and despite having planned to "stop by" gave no advanced warning such as a phone call even a few minutes ahead of time to see if it was convenient.
they stood at the door apologising for not phoning in advance but offered no reason other than that they'd decided not to call.. when invited in they had little to say (perhaps disappointed??).

The other day I was fixing a stuck window when I noticed 2 people in ridiculous athletic gear walking up to my culdesac... It was starting to get dark but as they got close, I noticed it was an elder and his wife (whom I haven't seen in months!)... they slowed down considerably to get a better look at my house... I still haven't put up any lights (but I think I might next year)... anyway, they NEVER do their "walking" near my home... but here they were trying to pin with something... incredible...

It's not enough that a billion trees need to be chopped every year to publish WT literature (99% of which ends up in the trash)... now they want to breach protected land? ...Sounds prophetic (Rev 11:18).
