Hey everyone!! Happy friday!!! its been a while since I have started a topic so here it goes..... When I joined the org I came in knowing that I would never go to the elders for advice or to confess any wrong doings. I have noticed that a lot of witnesses feel compelled to spill their guts to the elders. I never understood this. So for you ex and current witnesses why did you or why would you go to elders with your issues? By doing this you are giving them and the org power over you. In my opinion if less witnesses went to the elders this would decrease the hold they have over their members.

It's been a year now... (Yay me.)
by VampireDCLXV ini guess that my one year anniversary here has come.. i've made lots of friends... and perhaps a few enemies.. i've made people laugh... i've pissed people off.... i've made people think... i've made people cringe.... i've moved ahead in some areas of life... still stuck in some others.... i've had a lot of fun... i've had some tense moments and tears.... i've been able to make sense to people... spoke utter nonsense at other times.... to my 'fans' here: thanks for the support and having my back... .
to people who hate my guts: go ahead... take your best shot... .
either way, i win.

Review and Comments on the New Elders Book
by MrDarkKnight ini recently completed an exhaustive review of an unofficial copy of the new elders manual.
my father, who is currently serving as an elder told me a friend of his in the service department told him it was on the internet so i eagerly looked for it and found it.
yes, i know it was a violation of copyright, but while at bethel i made copies of many technical manuals which is also a copy of copyright so the wts hypocrisy does not concern me.. i was appointed as an elder the year the pay attention book (manual replaced by this one) was released so i have very good working knowledge of the old book and could compare the two books.

Hello to all my friends here!! I want to tell you that I am on this site EVERYDAY! I just don't post very often. Quick update I have been inactive for 2 years. We just stopped going to meetings. No fade just stopped. We would receive a few calls from elders in the past. Maybe twice in the past. Asking us if there was anything they could do to get us back to the hall. I was always vague, thank them for their concern and the phone call and that was it. Never has anyone came to my home. Well then gueaa what happens last week while I was out. 2 elders came strolling to my home for a "shepherding call. I had a family member there who they try to question about her association to jws. Anyway they left their # for my husband to call them back. I really was upset about this. My husband said he isn't going to call them back. For what! Don't they get the point. In a sense I would like him to return the phone call to tell them not to come to my home unannounced. But that would probably open up a can of worms. I really don't believe the religion and I don't like the control that they have on their members. I don't answer to anyone except to my husband and god and that's it. Now I have to worry about elders coming to my house at any given moment. Has there been any pressure from society to get inactive ones back? Any elders here who may have insight on what I am to expect? And any inactive ones can you share any current experiences similar to mine. Your friend always Dawn

"Trust the Faithful and Discreet Slave" Transcript [2010/2011 Kingdom Ministry School]
by pirata intranscript for the talk "trust the faithful and discreet slave" talk given at the kingdom ministry schools:.
trust the faithful and discreet slave.
have we ever had to meet up with somebody with whom we've not seen before?
-

Now, for us, identifying and trusting in this slave are necessary to know Jehovah and to do Jehovah's will, to serve him properly. Why? Why is that? Why do I say that? Well, because this is Jehovah's arrangement. Jehovah has said this is the way in which I'm going to deal with my people. This is how I'm going to care for my sheep and feed them properly. He has deemed this organization necessary and who are we to doubt Jehovah's decision?
no where in the bible is there a verse that actually supports this claim.

Heads up! Jesus is angry at the churches for their hospitals and feeding the poor......
by miseryloveselders innext week's congregation bible study will explain and illustrate why christendom is toast, and how we can contribute to the joy of christ by supporting "the faithful and discreet slave.".
the anger and the joy of the messianic king.

Such a judgmental article. The bible clearly states not to pass judgment on others. This is one of the many reasons why I stopped Going to the hall.

DO WE NEED TO BELONG TO A RELIGION TO BE A "SPIRITUAL PERSON"?
by foodalls ini have been noticing people posting on this site have a "deep" spiritual desire, but don't quite know how to find it, or where it is at.. this beg the question...do we need to be involved with a "religion" to find "spirituality"...especially an "organized religion"???.
anyone that has there eyes open can see that all religion is loosing their influence over people around the world...i spent 47 years thinking i was in the "truth" being one of jw's!
and now that i am out...and looking back from the "outside"...all i see is that its just another religion...filled with all the "control-grid" stuff found in any other group.. worse yet...they are worse than other religions...so it begs an answer..is there such thing as a "true religion"???.

I believe that religion takes away from your spirituality. I will never join another religion again. Our spirituality is between our creator and ourselves. Its not for a group of men to control.
