Aude Sapere, your advice got the the information I was looking for. I think I can get my grandchildren to teach me how to convert my "favorites" into folders on my pc by using fake favorites. You answered the basic question as to finding things among many posts. That is exactly what I have been fearing --- that once I get thousands of posts, how long would it take me to then find what I really need?
(Plus I was yesterday looking for someones post on someone else's thread. By using the + I found it easily.....Whew! Thanks to you all for helping. I didn't know about the + sign to help. This will be a lifesaver.

POLL: Can you turn your mind off?
by Lady Lee inok ladies you know how this goes.
you ask your man, "what are you thinking about?
now i have had more than one man tell me this.

I am a woman, and therefore can't know what a man thinks, but...
I think the answer of nothing means one of the following:
1. What I am thinking, you don't want to hear. It'll just be a fight.
2. All you want to do is talk, and right now I don't feel like it.
3. Nothing that you would want to talk about.
4. I am busy and I want to concentrate on something else. (Kind of a "leave me alone right now and shut up")

I am not sure that I am making myself clear with the question. Let me try again.
When I use the "search" option, (which I had already learned to use) and a particular posting that I want to refer back to is not the title of the thread so that when I try various things in the search, it doesn't come up, etc. the question is:
Is there anyway to put this in some kind of personal folder by subject matter. I mean a personal folder on my own computer. On my hardrive of my pc, so that I can organize the material in a way that it is under the subject that I think it should be.
Does that make the original question clearer? (But I am still having trouble with finding a particular post that was not the topic of the thread. It's like the WT cd. If you can't remember the exact words, nothing comes up. I want to organize it in a personal way.
I am not like a young person who can pick up some modern electronic device and figure out how to use it. My grandchildren would probably be able to tell me how to do this, but as this is an apostate forum, I can't turn to them for help. Heck, I have a cell phone that they tell me can get on the internet, and I can't do that either.

How many JW's left after the 1925 debacle?
by middleman ini'm very interested to see how many left because the "proclaimers" book said it was very few.
it's my understanding that there were over a third that left but i'm not sure of this figure.
if anyone has this info it would be much appreciated-hopefully with a source for verification.

JW Shunning is pissing me off
by Hairyhegoat indisfellowshipping versus shunning.
the point of this commentary will be to show that the watchtower society's shunning doctrine does not adhere to the bible.
further, an understanding of congregational practices of first-century christians in the jewish culture is necessary for a proper understanding of the scriptures on this matter.. the primary scripture for consideration is:.

What a great point regarding that scripture. I intend to use that one.
Welcome to the board Thumperspooner. I hope you start your own thread and tell us your story. In the meantime, if you haven't read any of the "best of series" you will find them informational.
Back to hairyhe goat - I hope you post more things along this line. I can use all the argument I can find for my JW family. I REALLY liked this arguement.

So much for Watchtower, er, Bible studies
by dgp inon another thread, i wondered whether there was an objective way to determine the effect that the internet is having on new people being attracted into the watchtower.
i get the general impression that, while we can certainly know that the internet has been crucial in quite a few people leaving, or never joining, there is no statistics that would tell us something like "millions now living didn't join because of what they read on a website".. that's for background.
now i would like to see the question the other way around.

Most kingdom halls have in their library, bound volumes of the Watchtower and Awake. The old ones from the time you describe would be in Blue binders that say Watchtower. In the old blue ones is an actual Watchtower with the article.

I saw the CNN report the other night. A cult is not only dangerous, but can be deadly.
