I was simply terrified at my own acknowledgement of my apostacy. The people on this forum helped me to take a deep breath and regroup. I needed someone to understand, and they did. I will always be grateful. I spent weeks and months reading all the old discussion of doctrine, etc. in the archives. The level of scholarship is often wonderful. I wish I could pay it forward, but it seems that it's all been said, and said better than I could.

How many have moved away?
by evilone inin an earlier post i talked about the fact that my wife and i were moving far, far away from the city in which we grew up.
well, the move was successful we're loving our new city and new jobs.
the congregation to which our publishers cards were sent doesnt have our correct home address and as a result no one has knocked on our door (i highly recommend getting a p.o.

I didn't move. I just stopped attending meetings quite abruptly. I won't take calls. I have run into witnesses in my rather smallish city, but they treat me like nothing has happened. (the very fact that these people NEVER NEVER NEVER ask me why I am no longer coming to meetings, shows that they are aware of it) I have been both polite and warm, but have not invited questions. My whole family is in, so everyone knows I am apostate, but they just don't know why or in what manner.

Yes Charlie, that is exactly my point. He was a man, not an inspired prophet.

Analogy for arguing with a Witness
by sabastious ini have had several fights with my mother over the past few months.
she had been, to my guess inadvertantly, hanging shunning me or not over my head.
however recently i believe she has made her choice to associate with me.

Don't use anything other than WT publications, if she doesn't want to look at the copy in her hand, then what does that say about WT teachings?

I just happened across the expression in the "Finished Mystery", volume seven of the studies series. It says "As in apostolic days, believers in Present Truth call themselves "in the "Truth" 2 Peter 1:13"

I think perhaps you should tell him what you just told us. Or, tell him calmly that if the time comes when you need or want advice, that you will be sure he is the first to know. Smile, shake his hand, and walk away.

My Very First Internet Article
by Farkel init was around 1996 or so when i starting my mean old apostate-opposer "career.
" while rooting around the internet looking for some other information, i ran across the very first article i wrote and put on the internet back then .
i didn't know it even still existed as i had lost from my computer a long time ago.. for nostalgia purposes, i decided to share it:.

Introduction to Daniel - For Fun and Prophet
by Farkel inintroduction to daniel - for fun and prophet.
when i was a dubbie, i considered reading the bible books to be a major and boring chore, mainly because i was required to believe all that stuff i was reading.
trying to make sense out of nonsense is always a frustrating chore.
