I have spent 12 minutes trying to get this message off of here. It was the tag line in a very short movie when two senior sisters knock at a door and encounter a very rude man.
Sorry for the inability to remove this comment.

So there are two Mormons walking down a sidewalk and two JW Elders walking up the sidewalk.
They face one another and the two JW elders say 'we don't move out of the way for non believers.....
We do!....... say the Mormons and then step around the Elders.
Both religions are extreme and uninformed. Though you can have a more 'normal life' as a Mormon re education wise....... otherwise their really is nothing to like or respect within their Joseph Smith made up fantesy.
On the other hand being a JW is totally pathetic. Unless you can embrace stupid. A JW knows nothing and doesn't want or need...... to learn anything.
The Mormons........ due to their education are far more educated then the JW's.
Having learned the JW beliefs as a young person........ I am still embarrassed. If I was a Mormon I would be equality embarrassed. Being a dumb ass seldom works out.

I stopped pioneering after three years. My wife and I were settled in and we enjoyed the streams and rivers. This was a good recreation area. Great fishing, winter sports , ice skating 20 degrees below.
However Trout fishing was my passion. Being on the stream was more then just being outdoors........ it was spiritual.
So one summer day I was trout fishing on the Kinsua stream/river. I had worked my way upstream and noticed that a car had stopped on the old bridge. There was little to no traffic.
While I was casting up stream I brushed what I thought was a bee cause I could hear the buzzing going past my ear. Then a Bang? What the...?
My body understood before I did it was the first time I ever experienced a dangerous life threatening situation......someone had shot at me.....or so I thought. And the next thing I knew.......... was me laying in the mud of the stream. The gun fire tapered off after a while and I noticed that there was something floating down stream....... something silvery.
It was beer cans. Someone had not realized I was down stream and the ricochets had sent their shots in my direction. The beer cans were un harmed and went on their way safely. I remained hunkering down until A car started up and went on it's merry way.
I watched it disappear down the road too far way to see the license plate. When I finally stood up and made my way off of the stream. I realized I learned two things that day Jehovah didn't give a damn and bullets can easily ricochet off water...... ( compare stone skipping).
I think that encounter in it's way forced me to drop the notion that a JW pioneer had a real investment in the JW's. I might have come to a different lesson if a voice told me to take cover.......you dumb sum of a bitch!
But It was over for me.
I went home and told my wife what happened and being a JW was over for me. Her response was "I never believed in it so leaving is not a problem."
Who knew?

The Way it was:
I promised Mom I'd pioneer for a year after graduating HS.
BUT! I didn't say where.
I chose a small store front Kingdom Hall in Kane Pa, One of the coldest places in NW Pennsylvania. They were impressed with their frosty weather. I wasn't.... not going door to door.
So I contracted with a land owner to rent me a cabin. Which was $15 dollars per month. Including all Utilizes except heat. Which I chopped.
But there was another problem....... no toilet./.... I had assumed there was a toilet when I opened the door. But didn't glance in back of the door. No Toilet.
So I was stuck with the snow covered out house. The problem was that there were bullet holes in the door. There is nothing more unsettling then sitting in an outhouse with head high bullet holes in the door.
I reasoned my way to decide for a hot coffee and some breakfast food at a local restaurant with no bullet holes in their rest room door.
Worth the expense .

RubaDub... tuck it back in .......you don 't have to salute your little general every time he or she shows up.
Eve's bush is not in flames........ she's doing fine. Kinda well past Adam. How about the Flood........ I'd bet Eve got out of that bullshit.....took the kids and high tailed it.
The God of of the old Testament was one of the dumbest Gods ever.
This is a key embarrassment about the Christian god. He's an idiot!

Using gods name
by Gorbatchov ini've never thought about it before, but isn't it some sort of blasphemy and extremism to use a god's name in the official name of your religion?.

Let's keep it simple. Jehovah was not God's name it is a made up name that was first published by a Catholic Monk in I think the 12th century maybe the 13th. The WTBTS acknowledges this.
If Jesus was down with Father or Lord....... leave it be. Good enough for Jesus....... good enough for me.
I think that there is a case to be made for not calling God by a man made name.
There is also a level of disrespect at play. If I am walking down a street in my small city where everyone just about knows everyone else and I hear "Hey Gio! Giordano !" I am going to respond...however if some one calls me John or Jolly Rodger then I know they don't mean me. So I don't interact.
Now let's move this to a different place. Heaven is God's home. Did you ever think how pissed off God would be if your praying to a God with a made up name like...Jehovah? Is that one of the reasons God doesn't interact?
Now you've got the reason prayers are not answered. There's no one home and there's no answering service.
A final thought...... Christians were supposed to be Witnesses For Jesus.......... says so some 20 times plus in the New Testament...witness of Jehovah is mentioned once in the Old Testament .
The Society really screwed up when they named their shinny new religion...... Jehovah's Witnesses. To this day people are confused by that name. We explained out in service that Jehovah is the name of our God...before the door is slammed in our face.

GodBeliever here is a site that is made up of Ex JW's or at least started by them and has morphed into an on line belief forum with beliefs that they feel need to be articulated. Since your in the articulated beliefs business I am sure you will find a hearty welcome.
https://beroeans.study/what-we-believe/
I think they are well meaning and do have bible based beliefs.
Unfortunately 'true believers' tend to have a very low IQ.

Another Unnecessary Early Death
by Slidin Fast ina young man in somerset in england, under massive pressure from financial and relationship issues lapsed into mental illness.
he was unlucky enough to have as his support system the local congregation of jehovah's witnesses.
one of the symptoms of his illness was the use of tobacco.

The WTBTS is totally ignorant about mental stability and/or mental health. They run away from it. It's all about praying and attending meetings.
How can religious beliefs make clear what mental health issues are dangerous when there is no ability to separate a sin from a crime?
Believe and have faith. Wrong every time!!!
They land on the side of sin........ not mental issues. A JW committee is as useful as the Catholic Church........or as useful as one different left or right shoe. Clump clump.
Stupid is the word for all religious issues regarding sexual practices or sexual crimes.
Sins are the same as Crimes......usually. The Elders don't seem to get that.
It's a sin/crime to sexually abuse children once ... or over and over again. That's pretty simple isn't it? We used to shoot people for that....... oh for the good old times.
But of course the abusers are also mentally deficient.
Because of the lack of higher education the Society, the Catholic Church..... and many others like the Boy Scout's.... were at a loss when it came to the mental health of their Priests, Elders, Coach's, older brothers............ official's of all sorts..... who engaged in child sexual abuse.
Pray....is the proper response for most religious people.
But guess what....it will not absolve anything.......nor make anything right. The children have grown up and are getting their revenge!
And that's the way it should be.

Hi Parker! And welcome.
Many were born-ins to this religion or in our case my wife and I....... were exposed to the JW world view by one or two of our parents....usually our mother's........ after they converted.
To be honest........ our families were totally ignorant about what their new religion was about.
Never having to die was it's big selling point. So living in a 'Paradise Earth' was reassuring. Except paradise earth was never mentioned in the Bible.
What they actually joined was a corporation before it became a religion. One that could and still can......... change it's beliefs and rules.
Jesus was brought up in the Hebrew religion and tradition. So there is no doubt that he would have believed in Jewish history like Adam and Eve, the great Flood. ...etc.
The biggest problem with Jesus was that he never wrote anything down. We know him only by hearsay. Even Paul could not fill a postcard on both sides with quotes from Jesus.
