  How do YOU view salvation? 2 Stories

  just to be clear and not get in trouble by "someone" on this board, some of what i want to say in this post is adapted from a sermon from dallas willard.

  it's in my own words, but i don't want anyone telling me to beg god for forgiveness for "stealing" someone elses work by posting it on a forum.

  basically there are 2 ways of viewing the issue of salvation.

  i loved my congregation growing up.

  when i would go to the meetings, i felt i could go to school the next day and deal with the pressures of that day.

  @debator...Who said they "dislike witnesses" ??? ...It's the WBTS that I personally can't stand...

  I love my JW family... it is the man-made, distructive, mind controlling CULT and its destructive doctrines, rules and regs that stink!

  Sorry Geen Jade...I had to vent....

  I congratulate you on your courage to reach out on this forum...You will be blessed..IMHO.

  I wish you continued independent thinking...knowledge is power.

  Is there anything that could actually bring down this farce of a religion?

  it seems as if they have survived it all.

  bad press such as articles on molestations, neutrality, blood, defections of high ranking officials, crazy changes in doctrines, financial stresses, passage of a 100 years without one prophecy coming true.

  yet they are still going strong with new members being recruited at a faster level than those who leave.

  I wonder how many bethelites would follow the GB...if they told them to drink it for Jehovah....

  Hmmm...rethinking...long history, to big, and to much money at stake, GB members are not in a desperate situation...

  I now feel I have a better undestanding of the WT view of GRACE....ah er I mean undeserved kindness...yuk!

  Just love on your JW family...I know its hard....I was filled with Anger and Hate at the Borg...

  I came at my family with 16" guns filled with "Apostate" literature...it drove them away and hurt our relationship for years.

  Time has healed things...but most importantly ...I kill'em with Love, Love, Love...and they see my life of FREEDOM.

  Witnesses Now for Jesus Convention ...Oct. 15,16,17.

  i attended this convention for 3 yrs in the mid 80's...its been 20+ yrs already.. i googled ...and found a dozen websites for info...it is great to see the convention going strong.. .

  this convention and these people helped me understand the wt...and helped me to deal with my family with peace and love.... an amazing group of christ-like apostates....warm, friendly, non-judgemental...all about helping people get to freedom.. .

  please share any experience, thoughts, questions....-bh.

  Hey Designs...I read your thread...thanks for that...I think?...I'm still processing... sorry to hear your church experiences have been WTesk. I would run for the door also.

  I am all about a healthy, well balanced church...that focuses on God, Christ and the Word.

  Comparing our church to ...KH, WTS, GB ...a man-made religious Mother ORG, who places itself on par with GOD himself...

  doesn't match up..IMHO. Child abuse ?? I have never run into that...maybe I don't understand or relate to the child abuse you speak of.

  We are free in Christ...to worship where we want...its good to find something that fits.

  Our dress, haircuts, what we do and don't do...it's our choice..with the kids...ie, traditional service, contemporary rock it out with the youth service ...etc,etc

  If I ever felt pressured into anything....like the WT theocratic treadmill...Adios!

  Thank you for your thoughts...and I'm glad you were able to get your family out of the WT cult.
