Social Isolation & The Witnesses
by minimus inthe truth is that jehovah's witnesses purposely try to insulate their own members.
they want their own to be "no part of the world".
they do not sanction unnecessary association with "worldly people".

911 forgotten amongst JWs
by fade_away ini noticed over the last 10 years that in every 9/11 anniversary, jws that i know personally don't even mention it.
not a word about the anniversary.
not a compassionate comment, not a prayer....nothing.

This is true but I think we have to put everything in perspective.

September 11th, 2011- The Difference Between JW's and Reality
by OnTheWayOut ini can agree with some that say there have been plenty of tragedies worldwide where plenty more lives were lost.
so what was special about the loss experienced ten years ago on sept. 11th, 2001 in the united states?.
i might have a bias on this subject because i am a first responder in a different city.

I agree many at My KH in 2001 were eager because to them this might be the end but here we are in 2011. 10 yrs later.

this im my opinion is played out. People die everyday in countries that experience civil war.I am not underplaying 9/11 but this is just too much.

"That's what Armageddon will look like."
by AllTimeJeff ini couldn't put the words back in my mouth.. that is what i said, without premeditation, to our car group on tuesday, september 11, 2001.. on that day, as an elder, i was out in fs.
in dealing with the shock of what we saw and were listening to on the radio (like good little pioneers, we didn't stop our day, we used this as an opportunity to preach...) some of us were showing the bits of humanity that the borg hadn't completely stolen from us, myself included.. we got an unusual amount of people who talked with us that day.
opinions as you can imagine varied.

I remeber 9/11 I was 10 yrs old and I saw when we got home from running errands and my aunt called from New York. It was scary, I thought in many ways it was the begining of the end. Everbody in my school was experiecing anxiety for close to two weeks.
