I am going through a period of change myself. Being an atheist for me is one of the most liberating experiences.religion is just a tool of control used by men.I no longer fear the devil becuase he is imaginary just like God.

Things that made you cringe at "the meetings"
by i_drank_the_wine ini always cringed so hard when a "brother" or "sister" would make some overly heartfelt comment about jehovah-something, usually related to a personal experience of theirs, and get all teared up and/or start crying.. once this fringe dude that's been df'd twice now was giving a talk and kept having these long awkward pauses where he looked like he was real stressed out, then he would start up again, stutter, slip up, and repeat the process until he looked down and went "i, i just can't do this" and walked off the stage and left the hall.. it also made my spchincter pucker when a young person would give some super devotional comment on how much they love big j and whatnot, which would make the congregation all smile in their hearts and wag their heads in approval..

Those arrogant comments that people would make about how bad the world is.

"the most peaceable era in human existence"
by metatron inthe above is a phrase taken from an article written by steven pinker in the review of this weekends wall street journal.
the title is violence vanquished and presents the thought that human history has been so loaded with tribal violence in particular, that our current era is "the most peaceable era in human existence".. battle deaths and murder generally have declined substantially across centuries to the low level they generally are today.
i admit i am mystified as to why we don't see much more violence and crime at present, in this ugly economy.

This is good, but it would go against the grain of the witness. LOL

Are you sick of conspiracy nuts?.....9/11
by Witness 007 inyes apparently the staff at the twin towers on 9/11 didn't notice the explosives strapped to all the beams on each floor......of course a plane fully loaded with jet fuel going so fast it nearly flew through the building {blew out the otherside} would not be enough to cause a collapse.
the building were glowing red!
people jumped due to the heat and smoke.

Aldous Huxley, Brave New World
by d ini was reading aldous huxley's brave new world and thinking, this is what society is becoming.especially since nowadays people want to be distracted with the use of the internet and social networking sites such as facebook and twitter.i like how it says " what we desire will destroy us" because in the grand scheme of things.
it most likely will and that is a very disturbing thoought.it is shocking how he wrote the book in 1932 and it was written during the 1920's, all of what he is sayiing is becoming a scary reality..

There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution." -Aldous Huxley ( 1962)
