Why I Have Hope For Humanity
by metatron in"these are the times that try men's souls" - so said my favourite writer, an american who invented the very concept and phrase.
"united states of america".
he sought to encourage the seemingly ridiculous idea that a disunited rag tag army could beat the greatest empire of the day and become independent.

Proof of God or Christ without a holy book
by Awen inin some previous posts i have asked certain questions that still haven't been answered.
so without going back to those threads and possibly de-railing them i thought it best to make a new topic.
please bear with me.. i have asked certain ones to prove the existence of god or christ without referencing any biblical writings or characters.

Interesting, though, isn't it, that no one questions the existence of Mohammed... or Siddartha... or Confucious. And please don't say, "Because there is a record." There is a record of Moses... and David. That some don't LIKE or want to ACCEPT the record doesn't invalidate the record..." I digress.)
Another fork in the road,..."validity of records", isn't what we are talking about regarding scripture. Whether real or unreal, true or untrue, valid or invalid
Without the tangible(the bible and/or word of mouth) you would not have the intangible(faith in Christ)
Show me a person with "Faith in Christ" without preseeding through tangible evidence(bible/word of mouth)

Miscellaneous PC Issues & Tips
by ProdigalSon ini apologize if this sounds like a commercial, but i would like to share some info about a fantastic program that i've been using on my laptop for the last five years or so.
i've never had one that lasted this long, they usually would go in the garbage after 2 or 3 years.
from just normal usage, pc's get fragmented registries, misaligned files, all sorts of errors, accompanied by ever increasing blue screens of death.

There was no intent, for you to go into specifics,...... just wanted a laymen view on where your industry is progressing.
The last sentence gave me a few things to look into. Thanks.

@EP
I did not say linux was exempt from needing to be defrag'ed I said you don't have to be concerned with it as much, even more so with basic desktop usage.
What you just explained, is large scale, making the management of fragmentation that more important.
..........
I was teasing with the Gates thing, no doubt
Are you a Redhat instructor?
