That's great! There are many of us who now publicly expose the Wt to be the cult that it is.

As has been posted, the Bible says that Jesus is the mediator between God and "man". But I remember seeing in the publications (it's been many years ago) that the WT teaches that Jesus is the mediator between Jehovah and the 144K. The other sheep are nothing.
You can choose to follow either the Bible, or the Watchtower, or your own beliefs. Many here are do not believe in God at all and that is their choice. But I think all of us would agree that what the WT teaches is not the same as what the Bible teaches.

Anyone know the significance of the three days and nights Jesus is dead?
by Crazyguy inin my studies i’ve come to realize that most dying and rising gods such as inanna, jesus and others all were dead three days and nights.
the moon is dead as far as man not being able to see it in the sky three days and nights but many of these gods are not associated with the moon, osiris maybe being the only exception.
have any of you in your research come up with a plausible idea on why there all dead just threes days and three nights?.

The number 3 in the Bible symbolizes divine perfection and completeness. So Jesus was completely dead. It could not be disputed. The darkness in Egypt form the 9th plague was 3 days so they'd know they were judged completely by God.

BS stories in the publications
by Billzfan23 inthis is an example of a story that just strikes me as funny from their publications:.
"wilson, a christian from ghana, was notified that in a few days, he would be fired from his job.
on his final day at work, he was assigned to wash the private car of the managing director of the company.

Anyone with any dignity, if they were told they were getting fired in a few days, would leave right then and there. My boss knows he wouldn't even get to finish his sentence and I'd be out the door, on the way to the unemployment office.

No study article to study? Oh no! I guess we'll just have to study the Bible instead. What a shame...

The Wheels On The Bus ...
by Solzhenitsyn inthe wt for this upcoming sunday 10/07 is especially precious in its standard double speak.
aren't we so grateful to the f&ds who directly mediates our relationship with jesus christ and give us the food we need at the proper time?
i dunno....maybe i have anger issues with the the wt?.

And regarding "food at the proper time" that "food" is the Bible, which was completed around 100 A.D. Jesus said to satan in Matthew 4:4 "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from Jehovah's mouth." Not the F&D slave's mouth.
The Watchtower Bldg in Brooklyn's sign said, "Read God's Word The Holy Bible Daily". They had that right! They probably meant, "Read the Watchtower Magazine Daily" but ended up putting the real truth on the sign.

Even the New World Translation clearly teaches at 1 Timothy 2:5 that "there is one mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:28 "through Him [Christ] we have access to the Father..." this access is not through a F&D slave or through a Gov Body. John 14:16 Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life...no one comes to the Father except through me..." not through the F&D slave but through Jesus.
So even the F&D slave do not follow their own translation of the Bible.

Overwhelmed
by Freedom rocks indoes anyone else feel overwhelmed on what to believe?.
i've been doing lots of research on beliefs, evolution, creationism but i feel no further forward about what i truly believe.
for example i looked at the fossil record and tiktaalic and thought great it proves a lot but then i've seen counter arguments on youtube of people basically saying its a load of rubbish and doesn't prove anything.

blownaway, I do understand what you mean. It doesn't matter to me either way if my birthday is celebrated, or if I get Christmas gifts/cars or not. But it is fun to do it for others, or to participate and be among the others who are celebrating.

I have been at the same job here for over 20 years. So when I was the cult they all knew my stand and respected it. They celebrated everyone's birthday except mine. They went ahead and had birthday cakes, sang "Happy Birthday" in the employee break room while I stayed at my desk and worked. They saw that it did not bother me; they were OK with it. After I left the cult - I think it's been 11 years now - they went all out for my first birthday. They had a huge cake - something better than what they normally have for anyone else - and lots of cards. Even the family members of the owner came. Afterward I sent everyone a thank you email and explained that I learned something from them. The WT teaches that birthday celebrations honor the person; this is not completely true. It is not a form of "worship". I learned that birthday celebrations are an opportunity to express appreciation for that persons individuality. What things are unique about that person that you appreciate. If the person likes dogs, they will usually get a birthday card with a dog theme/picture. If the person likes music, the card might have a musical theme, a picture of a piano or something. Those organizing the celebration put thought into which card to select, what kind of cake, and so on. So the birthday celebration is a way of telling the person, "Thank you for being you. We are glad we know you."
And now, I enjoy celebrating EVERY holiday. At work for Flag Day (June 14) we all wore red white and blue ( or at least one of those colors) and had treats in the break room, on red white and blue plates. For St Patrick's day we all wear green; red for Valentine's Day, and so on. I and other men have those crazy flashy socks for each holiday. Everyone has a good laugh. We bring in treats or doughnuts or bagels, cookies, brownies etc. We even did stuff for Cinco de Mayo. These are all just "good clean fun"; we are not worshipping anything or anyone, we are not having any kind of fertility rituals or invoking false gods to bless our work.
