To know the Truth, Maddest would have to know Jesus, but he's too busy trying to downplay him to ever have a relationship with him. The only relationship he seems to have is with himself.

The Truth stands on its own- WTBS or NO WTBS!
by theMadJW inyes, the wtbs has done much deserving ridicule- yet does far more deserving credit and respect.. but this is not about them, but the truth about god and christ they have made known, by showing it to all in the scriptures.
because of this work, most know that god(s) is not the ultimate sadist bbqing billions in a mythical 'hellfire' anymore, etc!.
this topic is at the request of little bird- is it possible to have a peaceful discussion here- without all the self-righteous psychobabble from so many?.

All the accusations- and no substance....how SHOCKING!
by theMadJW inare there pretenders in our brotherhood- as in all religion- that do what is evil?.
yes.. have we made stupid guesses about some of the prophecies, as all churches do?.
yes.. does our "organization" make mistakes- as, you guessed it, all do?.

The facts on crucifixion, stauros, and the "torture stake"
by Leolaia infinally, i will look at biblical and patristic evidence bearing on the crucifixion of jesus in particular.
we need to examine the earliest known descriptions of the kind of crucifixion adopted by the romans and the specific terms they used to refer to it.
apparently the society believes that crux still meant "stake" in the second century a.d., when tacitus composed his annals.

It's quite understandable to see why Christians adopted symbols. It doesn't involve only the cross. For example, during times of persecution a fish symbol was used and this in spite of Deut. 4:18. No one would suggest that the early Christians were worshipping the pagan god Dagon! No, they had in mind several things: Jesus multiplied the fish and loaves; many of the first disciples were fishermen and moreover, Jesus told his followers to be fishers of men. This was a symbol that they could recognize each other without raising the suspicion of their persecutors. The holy spirit was represented by a dove or fire because the Bible uses those symbols. The symbols were only reminders, not objects of worship. I would say that one of the main symbols used by Christians today is the Bible. The Book points to the living Word of God, Jesus, but no one should worship a book anymore than a cross or any other object.

Petition against MadJW
by brotherdan ini'd like to submit a motion that we no longer respond to posts posted by madjw.
he's using this forum to spam all of us into going to his wts defending website.
he also claims to be a regular pioneer and gets the majority of his time by posting on this site.

I think Mad read too many of Judge Rutherford's books. That one had a rabid hate for other religions but his own. While most JWs are trying to get away from that image, Mad, the Rutherfordite, flaunts it.

Does a JW know how to preach with out slandering other religions?
by Little Imp inone of the first things i noticed when attending a kh is how the person on the platform always resorted to slandering other religions during his talk.
it reminds me so much of a party political broadcast just before an election.
as soon as the candidate starts slandering the opposing party i just switch off.. i am not interested in what everyone else is doing wrong i want to know what they are going to that's right.

Alice,
The WTS may be a bit more subtle nowadays, but they weren't always so. See page 146 of Revelation Its Grand Climax At Hand. Look at one of the MANY cartoons published during Judge Rutherford's regime. JW's are claimed by the WTS to be none other than the "spiritual locusts" that came out of the abyss to plague Christendom. Isn't it strange that this is where Satan ends up during the Millennium before his final destiny in the "lake of fire," the very location where the demons implored Jesus not to be sent?

# 1 scripture that Jehovah Witnesses avoid, when denying they are false prophets
by wasblind injeremiah 28: 15-17. and jeremiah the prophet went on to say to hananiah the prophet: "listen, please, oh hananiah!
jehovah has not sent you, but you yourself have caused this people to trust in a falsehood.
therefore this is what jehovah has said, ' look!

Was blind,
If the WTS writes everything from Jehovah, they apparently forget what they have written. Thus, the constant "new light" revisions. LOL
